The large increases from 1940 to 1960 illustrate the impact of the war industries. There not only was an increase in numbers but also a change in the makeup of the ethnic mix of population as a result of people outside of Utah moving into the area to be employed in war industry and agricultural jobs. The last half of the twentieth century has seen sustained population growth in the county, which has brought both opportunities and challenges to the people of Weber County. 352
