INFORMATION SYSTEMS: UNDERSTANDING FOUNDATIONAL CONCEPTS IN TECHNOLOGY Technology is constantly changing, making it critical for organizations to ensure they are effectively leveraging information systems to support their strategic objectives. This course gives students an overview of foundational information systems concepts and how to leverage information systems as strategic resources to gain a competitive advantage and support technology decision-making efforts. Core concepts addressed in this course include hardware, software, database, networking, cloud computing, business intelligence (BI), enterprise applications, security, and systems development life cycle (SDLC). Key concepts are reinforced through assigned readings and active review/exercises.
