MANAGING DIVERSITY & INCLUSION: DEVELOPING A SYSTEMIC ORGANIZATIONAL MODEL In this class, you, as a leader of diversity, will examine your organization in terms of diversity, equity, and inclusion. You will experience an innovative process of creating a systemic model of diversity management. You will move beyond legal compliance to organizational members’ empowerment and create a competitive advantage by putting into practice the Integrated Model of Diversity Management, a model designed by Dr. Cañas. More specifically, you will engage in a 3-step process: •

Step 1: Examine organization’s strengths and areas of development in light of the seven components of the Integrated Model of Diversity Management

Step 2: Move organizational analysis to the next step of prioritizing particular D&I goals

Step 3: Create a diversity plan as add structure to steps 1 and 2

Presenting Faculty | Kathryn Cañas, Ph.D. Kathryn A. Cañas, Ph.D., is a member of the Management Department in the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. Her teaching currently includes courses on managing diversity, business communication, and pedagogical theories and practices on both undergraduate and graduate levels.
