WHAT WHAT THIS THIS MEANS MEANS If a student shares something in a class discussion, in writing/class assignment, in conversation, or the Responsible Employee overhears something in a conversation that hints at or makes it clear that the student has been affected by sexual misconduct, the staff or faculty member

must report the incident.

HOW IT WORKS Mandatory Reporters should report as soon as they become aware of a Title IX-related incident or alleged prohibited conduct under Title IX. After the report is filed, the student then gets to decide how the case will proceed. They can get available counseling resources, continue to investigate the case or decide not to push further with investigation.

All faculty have included this in their syllabi, but may have not have verbally shared this with their students.

ORGANIZATION SPOTLIGHT

O

RANGE began as a class project in the late 90s in Professor Dave Garlock’s Magazine Management class. However, in 2013 ORANGE transitioned into a stand-alone publication and registered as a student organization. ORANGE is known as a literary bridge between students and the greater Austin community. Created as a “magazine by students, for students,” ORANGE continues to maintain these founding values now as an independent publication. While publishing online daily, ORANGE also has a print issue each semester of more than 100 pages created exclusively by the magazine staff. ORANGE has five primary sections: ATX, Music, Food + Drink, Style and Buzz. In addition, ORANGE also has four media sections: Photography, Design, Video and Social Media.
