The Catering team had another busy

Chapter of Institute of Internal Auditors also hosted a dinner, celebrating
their 65th
Anniversary here at UT

3-day Chartwells meeting hosted at UT

02 Residential Highlights
- DHW Extended Hours
- Pumpkin Carving Contest - October Residential Calendar
Dining Hall West’s second full month of being open brought the highest
participation UT Dallas has ever seen.
Over 20,000 meals are served out of Dining Hall West each week, allowing for a constant flow of patrons throughout the day. The most challenging aspect to-date has been long lines forming at the front of the serving area; however that challenge is in the process of being solved with the
introduction of stanchions and strategic placement of larger signs to adapt traffic patterns.
The highlight of the month was the
pumpkin carving contest which was held on Halloween. Over 30 pumpkins were submitted to the contest this year, which is more than triple of the
submissions last year.
Dining Hall West also changed
hours to
better fit the needs of students. The change
extended Friday, Saturday and Sunday dinner hours by 30 minutes and also opened Sunday brunch 90 minutes earlier than before. The
hours extension suggestion was made
by food committee members based off of student feedback.

Jason’s Deli Opening Late October brought the much anticipated opening of Jason’s
Deli in the Jindal
School of Management. Jason’s Deli had a soft opening on Saturday, October 25 with an official opening the following Monday. So far, Jason’s Deli is averaging about
$3,000 in sales which is a great start
for this brand new location. Assistant Retail Director Antoine
Cooper will be over
the location, and has past experience with Jason’s Deli.
The Bookstore
Coffee Shop &
Coffee Corner received a refresh of the menu boards at their locations. The new designs reflect an updated look, are easier to read and better aligned with the overall dining program design standards.
“As a former Jason’s Deli employee, I’m familiar with managing their locations. The Jason’s Deli at UTD is the first Chartwells Jason’s Deli in the nation, so we’re very proud to set the standard for future campuses.”
-Antoine Cooper, Assistant Retail Director
