The UTSA Top Scholar Experience Top Scholars receive dedicated support and the ability to customize their academic, leadership, study abroad, and community service experiences to best fit their academic and career goals. Top Scholars also receive a four-year comprehensive, last-dollar scholarship that includes funding for tuition, fees, room and board.

The UTSA Top Scholar program is a premier merit scholar program, well-known and highly regarded across the state for developing award winning, academically talented and exceptional servant leaders.
It isn’t just academic achievement; it’s about the whole student. Selection of eligible applicants is based on a holistic scholar review focused on our three pillars of Knowledge, Leadership and Service. All majors are welcome. Candidates that meet the minimum requirements of having Texas residency for higher education and are first-time college students are eligible to apply. However, the most competitive candidates have:
• 1440+ on the new SAT • 32+ on the ACT • Class rank in the top 5% of their graduating class
