Partnership Opportunities

A

culture of innovation is essential for progress. Since the 1900s, innovation has made our nation stand apart from the rest. Whether it is the first airplane or the first computers, the Internet or smart phones, it is the United States that has led the way. Innovation makes communities and businesses flourish and achieve greatness. At the heart of all such communities is an innovation engine—a strong research university, such as UTSA. Collaborations with industry are critical to the kind of outstanding research which engenders innovation. UTSA’s culture of innovation is contagious with faculty and students at all levels participating. We are proud to be an institution committed to access for people from diverse backgrounds, including first generation college students, while also pursuing research and educational excellence. UTSA researchers cover a myriad of topics and are focused on addressing the grand challenges facing our world–problems related to health, security, education and sustainable infrastructure, such as energy and water. UTSA is already known as one of the national leaders for cyber security education and research. It is recognized as a center of academic excellence by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. To this outstanding foundation, the university is now adding a strong program in cloud computing and is in the midst of recruiting several new faculty and researchers. In fact, the cloud computing program is perhaps one of the largest initiatives in UTSA history. Such an effort would not be possible without the generosity of philanthropists, like the 80/20 Foundation, and the advice of industry leaders such as Graham Weston. We are looking for partners who want to invest in research that will change lives and students who will build a strong, diverse workforce for the future. I hope you’ll consider our invitation to invest in CyberUTSA. Sincerely, C. Mauli Agrawal Vice President for Research The University of Texas at San Antonio
