In the middle of the shimmer of the reflecting waves
Glides, as swans do, the wavering boat; Ah, on joy's soft shimmering waves Glides the soul along like the boat; Then from Heaven down onto the waves Dances the sunset all around the boat.
Over the treetops of the western grove Waves, in a friendly way, the reddish gleam; Under the branches of the eastern grove Murmur the reeds in the reddish light; Joy of Heaven and the peace of the grove Is breathed by the soul in the reddening light

Die Forelle (The trout)
In a bright little brook there shot in merry haste a capricious trout: past it shot like an arrow. I stood upon the shore and watched in sweet peace the cheery fish's bath in the clear little brook A fisher with his rod
stood at the water-side, and watched with cold blood as the fish swam about So long as the clearness of the water remained intact, I thought, he would not be able to capture the trout with his fishing rod.
But suddenly the thief grew weary of waiting. He stirred up the brook and made it muddy, and before I realized it, his fishing rod was twitching: the fish was squirming there, and with raging blood I gazed at the deceived fish
Elle était descendue au bas de la prairie (She had gone down to the bottom of the meadow)
She had gone down to the bottom of the meadow, and because the meadow was full of flowers that like to grow in the water, I had gathered the drowned plants Soon, because she was wet, she came back to the top of that flowery meadow
She laughed and moved with the lanky grace of girls who are too tall She looked the way lavender flowers do
Il barcaiolo (The boatman)
Row, row, the wind has died, the water is pure, the sky bright, only a breath of peace seems to cheer both sky and sea. Row, row, sailor.
Now that everything smiles upon us, in such a tender moment, to the exhilaration of happiness I want to abandon my soul. Row, row, sailor.
Because if a storm should rage and carry us both to our death, it will be my happy fate to die at your side

Dedicated to performing a wide range of solo and chamber repertoire, pianist Jeong-Eun Lee is Assistant Professor of Instruction in Collaborative Piano at the University of Texas at San Antonio Prior to joining UTSA, Lee taught at Indiana University as Visiting Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Scholar and held collaborative pianist positions at the State University of New York at Geneseo and Riverside City College in California Lee performed at the Carnegie Hall in New York City, Kennedy Center in Washington D C and she appeared as a soloist with the Seattle Symphony at the Benaroya Hall in Seattle, WA She served as a collaborative pianist and at the Aspen Music Festival and she is a founding member of Trio Zenia. Originally from Seoul, Korea, Lee received degrees from the Eastman School of Music and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Jean Barr, Nelita True and Yoshikazu Nagai
