HIERARCHY OF WASTE

You may have learned the "3 Rs" growing up - reduce, reuse, recycle. Consider this updated framework as a way to rethink the way you view waste and its management:

Refuse Reduce

Prevent waste upstream: consider what is truly necessary to own; begin to REFUSE things that are not

If you conclude that something is necessary, consider how much of it you need to buy or take.

Reuse Recycle Rot

Always carry reusable alternatives to single-use items such as bags, coffee cups, utensils, etc. Compost whenever possible!
