Solar panels were added to the REC in 2016 when the two-story addition on the southwest corner was constructed. The 1,875 square foot system can reduce greenhouse gas emissions up to 40,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per year, equivalent to annually saving 2,035 gallons of gasoline or recycling 13,000 pounds of trash.
