OPEN DAY your experience starts now

17 November 2018

TODAY IS JUST THE START Going to university is about more than just getting a qualification. You should leave equipped with the knowledge, skills and practical experience to make an impact. A degree from UWE Bristol means experience that will complement your education. From work placements and sports, to volunteering and networking, we’ll help you get the most from your opportunities. So instead of showing employers what you can do, you’ll be able to show them what you’ve done. That’s the UWE Bristol 360° experience. Everyone and everything here shares a single purpose: to make sure that you’re well-positioned for the future you want. Our focus on real-world learning experiences means that when you graduate you’ll be adaptable, enterprising and ready for work. We have connections with over 1,000 national and international employers and one of the largest paid internship programmes in the UK. So you'll enjoy a richer, fuller, more relevant learning experience which will increase your employability.

Today is your chance to find this out for yourself. Meet passionate academic staff and talk to enthusiastic students about their own adventures. Find out about all the extra-curricular activities you can get involved in. Love sports? Music? Debating or volunteering? The opportunities are endless, so make sure you take a tour of our facilities and all they can offer you. And finally, don‘t forget to have a look around Bristol before you leave. We’re biased, of course, but it’s hard to think of a better UK city to study and live in. Welcome to the start of your UWE Bristol experience.

What now? • Check your ticket for your Sign-in Point, and make your way there to let us know you’ve arrived. The Sign-in Point is open between 10:00 and 14:30. • Head over to the Information and Advice Zone, where you can talk to our various support teams. • Browse the next few pages for information on talks, tours and other activities throughout the day. 1

Take a break • Our main campus café the Glenside Hub will be serving a range of food and drink, so pop in here when you want to refuel. • You’ll also find complementary refreshments in the Glenside Student Centre and room 1C05. Extra-curricular activities • Our £5.5m Centre for Sport on Frenchay campus provides fantastic facilities, activities and classes. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a complete beginner or a high-performing athlete – you’ll find everything you need here to keep active. • Choose between around 200 societies, from astronomy and animation, to virtual reality and yoga. • You’ll find your musical outlet at our Centre for Music on Frenchay campus, whether you’re a born performer or happier behind the scenes.
