Life changing is an understatement when it comes to describing my journey with UWE Bristol. I’ve learnt so much more than the skills I needed to become a barrister. I’ve grown to become more resilient, courageous, meticulous and relentless in the pursuit of what I believe in. Sabrina Postgraduate Diploma in Bar Professional Training Course

Bristol’s a great city to be in. It’s very green, friendly and culturally diverse, and much better than London, which is just too busy. Everybody’s welcome and everyone feels at home here.

Bristol – a city that you’ll want to call home.

YOUR BRISTOL

Muhammad BEng(Hons) Aerospace Engineering

We love Bristol and it’s easy to see why. With its relaxed, friendly vibe, everyone feels welcome here. It’s so easy to make Bristol your home. The city has it all…green spaces, fantastic shopping, a great music scene, international cuisine, arts and culture, festivals and much more. And with an international airport, two major railway stations and a coach station, it’s well connected. Bristol is thriving economically too. Multinationals like Rolls-Royce and Airbus have based themselves here. From banking, the creative industries and engineering to high-tech and healthcare – it’s a city of opportunities. Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll be sure to find it here.

And our library is open 24/7 so you can study whenever suits you best. • Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) – PAL is our student-to-student support scheme aimed at supporting you with study skills as well as your transition to university. • English skills – we run a range of courses for international students who need to improve their English to the required level to study at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as our International Summer School, which prepares you to study in the UK.

The support available here has been amazing. I took extra English classes when I first arrived and it helped so much that I was fluent by the end of the first term. My course tutors have been helpful too and they’re always happy to explain anything you don’t understand. Baishu BSc(Hons) Architecture

It’s important to take advantage of the many opportunities on offer. I love sports so I joined the UWE Bristol Thai football team and before long I became the team captain. I also joined the Thai Society and later became the President. Rajakon BSc(Hons) Real Estate

You’ll find everything that you need on our campuses.

YOUR CAMPUSES

I’m studying on Frenchay Campus and the facilities are fantastic. The Bristol Business School building is stunning and has an impressive Bloomberg financial trading room for students to use. Pawaris MSc Finance

UWE Bristol is a campus-based university consisting of three campuses – Frenchay, Glenside and City Campus – in and around the city. Each has its own distinct atmosphere and a strong community.

Frenchay Campus Our main campus is based in Frenchay – just four miles north of the city centre. This is where most of our students study and many choose to live too. It’s also home to our £55 million Bristol Business and Law School as well as The West of England University Enterprise Zone (UEZ), one of only four in the country. As part of the UEZ, Future Space is a dynamic new workspace – with lab, workshops and offices – for innovative business start-ups and small companies specialising in science and high-tech areas.

Glenside Campus Situated in beautiful grounds in the Fishponds area of the city, Glenside Campus is just three miles northeast of the city centre. The picturesque surroundings provide an inspirational place to study. The campus is home to most of our allied health, nursing and midwifery students who benefit from modern facilities such as our professional simulation suites. You’ll also find our Crime Scene house here, a specially modified ‘house’, which is a fantastic facility for our Forensic Science students who can practise their skills in a setting that mimics a crime scene.

City Campus Our creative and cultural industries campus spans the city and consists of several sites at Bower Ashton Studios, Spike Island, Arnolfini and Watershed. Bower Ashton is the main hub of the Campus and is where teaching takes place for the School of Art and Design and the School of Film and Journalism.

INVESTING IN YOUR SUCCESS We’re investing £300 million into our accommodation, equipment and technology. This shows you where our priorities lie. With you. 19

When I first arrived I was a little homesick, but it didn’t last long because everyone was so friendly and there was so much to get involved in. The International Orientation helped me settle in well and it was a great way to make some new friends. Rajakon BSc(Hons) Real Estate

We’re here for you every step of the way.

SUPPORTING YOU FROM APPLICATION TO ARRIVAL We’re committed to making sure you have all that you need to settle into the UK and get the most from your university experience.

Before you join us We’re here to offer you support right from your initial enquiry. The teams in our regional offices around the world and here in the UK will guide you through your application and visa queries. We offer pre-departure briefings in a number of countries and provide key information to support your arrival at UWE Bristol.

Your arrival Our Global Ambassadors will be waiting to welcome you at Heathrow and Bristol airports, and will help you get to your campus. There will also be support available at Bristol Temple Meads train station and Bristol Bus Station. We’ll invite you to attend our International Student Orientation, which is a great way to make new friends and find your way.

After you’ve arrived Once you’re here, there’s plenty of support available as and when you need it. UWE Bristol’s Global Centre is an informal space where you can meet with friends, relax or get involved in a wide selection of events and activities. These happen throughout the year, and include a Language Café, where you can improve your language skills and share your language with others. Our student team of Global Ambassadors and Buddies are also available to support you, as well as offer advice about living in and getting the most out of Bristol. We also have a disability service, and a wellbeing service to offer any extra help you might need.

THE SMALL PRINT

The information in this printed prospectus, including that relating to the availability of courses, is current at the time of going to press (July 2018) and is subject to alterations. For the most up-to-date information, please check our website.

Data protection Personal data about students, including records of academic achievements, is stored by the University in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. The University’s Data Controller is the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Commercial Director and Corporation Secretary).

Disclaimer We’ve made every effort to make this prospectus as accurate as possible. However, it is printed over a year before the courses start. We continually enhance our offer by responding to feedback from our students and other stakeholders, which may mean we make changes to courses after the prospectus is published. You’ll find the most up-to-date information about our courses on our website. Very occasionally we have to withdraw or combine courses due to limited demand, as this would have a negative impact on the student experience. When this is the case, we'll advise you as soon as possible before the start of the course and aim to provide a suitable alternative. Wherever possible, we use images of our campus and students. Occasionally we use stock images for illustrative purposes.
