GIVON ST. OFFICE BUILDING

The building is planned in a pedestrian alley in the heart of the Migdal neighborhood in Ashkelon, the city’s oldest urban-commercial area. The lot has no building constraints in regards to distance from its edge. This small building is designed to have one store in its ground floor, and above it 4 floors with a space to be used for one or two offices in each.

The design was conceptualized through a process of mapping of the area. The map presents the area through its main characteristics - social accessibility, visual accessibility and sound. The result is a 3-D mapping model that defines the design of the building, its circulation, and the the views designed between it’s different parts and between its interior and exterior.

Using these same characteristics and the same graphic tool of mapping we defined the design which includes a facade of a custom bris- soleil shutters which frame the view from the inside, regulate the amount of sun that penetrates the offices and give a clean and uniform look to the building.

Six residential buildings in 3 lots in a new neighborhood. The buildings were designed to take advantage of the full building rights, to be simple to build, and to supply a high quality of living in every apartment .

2019/ 2021 RESIDENTIAL 7200 SQM, 69 HOUSING UNITS

The buildings are planned with an escalating facade towards the street as part of the demands from the municipality. The buildings circulation is exposed to the street entrance, to the buildings public backyard and to some of the balconies. This creates an interaction between

An urban project in the Ashkelon Marina that includes the construction of new buildings, additions to existing buildings, renovation of existing buildings and a retroactive approval process for commercial and catering buildings.

It is necessary to regulate the public space, remove temporary buildings, and to create a design uniformity for the marina as a recreation complex for the benefit of the public. 3. Establishment of a new

structure for the nautical police and an addition to the office building for Ashkelon’s economic company, thus evacuating some of the temporary structures and producing a significant public structure that emphasizes the public character of the marina. The materiality for the project was chosen to reflect the nautical environment but also to fit the environmental conditions in the Marina.

A compact residential building is planned on the foundations of an old Jerusalem house from the beginning of the previous century. The back facade of the house was announced for preservation.

In the new design it functions as a buffer between the street and the bedrooms, with a small courtyard that opens behind one of it’s windows. In the main facade, facing Tverya st. the exterior functions of the building are exposed.

The building is located in the heart of a green area in Moshav Talmei Yechiel, in a plot bordering a grove.

2020/ 2021 PUBLIC EDUCATION INSTITUTE

The classroom structure consists of two displacement cubic volumes that produce views of the perimeter courtyard and light entry from different angles. The classroom is characterized by a high and wide space bordering low service spaces around. The classroom is designed so that from anywhere the staff can watch the children whether they are inside the kindergarten classroom or in the yard.

Throughout the prelimenary stage of design we defined the most interesting event to be the process of change the child goes through every day as he comes from his home, from his family environment with his parents, reaches the kindergarten where he is handed over to the kindergarten teacher and then enter an environment full of children and play.

In the heart of nature in Mozambique, a building is planned that includes 6 kindergarten classrooms and common living and activity spaces.

2019 ARCHSTORMING COMPETITION

The lot is detached from any urban environment and is located just next to a simple car access path. The design is based on existing principles, including the use of local materials, energy savings, rainwater storage and natural ventilation. Also the design meets the need for a simple construction process.

The building delimits an inner courtyard to create a comfortable microclimate for outdoor activities. Around the inner courtyard, the movement of children and teachers takes place on a ramp that allows mobility for all users and preserves the existing ground route in order to prevent the need for excavation or filling.

Prior to the initial planning of the Academ for the Hebrew language, me and my colleagues worked on a process of mapping and getting to know the environment surrounding the designated area. Familiarity with the Minve site included a trip and a walking tour of the site and its surroundings.

Throughout the site visit, three main reference points were recorded that outlined the main points of the planning: 1. The renewed Ruppin Road produces a sense of formality and splendor: a wide and straight street with a fixed and symmetrical vegetation rhythm. On one side are large, terraced facades and on the other a grove of tall trees. 2. Ruppin Garden offers a romantic atmosphere reflected in winding paths,

filtered beams of light that penetrate through the tall trees, vegetation that allows hiding places and gathering points of various sizes 3. The edge of the field is bordered by a wild forestation, which creates an isolated atmosphere. The thicket is characterized by detachment from defined walking paths and just a few pedestrians. You can look out over the Valley of the Museums, in the direction of the Hebrew University.

MOTION CITY XI’AN TRAIN STATION

In a new complex planned in the suburbs of the city of Xi’an, a significant location for the train station was intended with a broad vision, placing mobility as a future destination that would allow for social and cultural dynamism. The proposed railway station is located as part of an urban square surrounded by trade, employment, hotels and leisure and nature areas.

All the proposed functions are intertwined in a multi-level manner around the movement of the trains, thus combining different shades and rhythms of movement within a rich and sophisticated urban space. In order to strengthen the expression of the idea of movement in the square, we examined how we can express movement in the static elements of the building. 5 Ways of ex-

pression of movement by graphic means common in literature and art constituted planning tools for the design of the structure: anterior tilt, stroboscopic position, lines of motion, dynamic balance and blurring of motion. All of these give a sense of dynamism at all standards of planning and together with the movement of trains, vehicles and people are integrated into a rich urban occurrence.

STROBOSCOPIC POSITIONING MOTION BLUR Our proposal suggests a train station that is revolved by large scale public spaces - the square and the park which are entangled with the train, located above, below and besides the tracks. Mitato (Greek: Μιτάτο, archaic form: μιτᾶτον or, from Latin: metor, “to measure off/to pitch camp”) is a term meaning “shelter” or “lodging” in Greek.

The circular shape of the greenhouse serves with efficiency the accessibility and circlucation of the project. The material used is ETFE which is supported with a system of voronoi tesselation metal structure.

Residential Unit Levels The four levels of residential housing units are placed with a rotation depending on the structural system of the walls and pillars. The main material of the housing units is CLT Panels (cross laminated

timber).

Commercial level/ Greenhouse Area The groundfloor level contains the greenhouse, formed by four platforms, and four main units that host commecrial activities, such as restaurants, bars, conference room areas, co-working areas, public library, gym and storage rooms.

Elements The building is supported by a system of columns visible to the public. The elevators along with a system of staircases connect the underground level, which serves as the main entrance of the project, with the upper floors.

I climbed up my fellow architect’s (SANAA) branches and enriched my research, understanding in the process how I should follow my guidelines into the design strategy. The final outcome is a result of a continuous research on materials and ways of integrating a big scale project in a narrow, central yet ‘‘romantic’’ path.

Imitating the pavimento milanese of the area, A.S.A. is a contemporary archive where throughout the interiors there is the a freedom of exploring the various functions of the project while on the exterior one can confuse it as part of the already existing pavement. The continuity of the interiors creates a feeling of ambiguity, main characteristic of SANAA and explores the boundaries for the design of interior public spaces.

R . C . I . C . Y . “Rehabilitation Center for Inner City Youth” With intention to connect to Sant’Agata’s previous life cycle. This project aims to give new purpose for the abandoned decayed structure, respecting its constrictions.

2016/ 2017 ADAPTIVE REUSE OF THE FORMER SANT’AGATA PRISON IN BERGAMO POLITECNICO DI MILANO

A community center intended to create new space for social activities within the context. Specifically developing fields of Art, Science, Music and Dance, which in respect to Sant Agata’s previous use, are fields that more than anything represent Freedom.

The potential users of the project were defined, but along with this, the project is dedicated to the inner city youth of today, a generation that due to the city’s limitations, are much less active in social interaction in comparison to generations prior.

The overall title for the project is ReSTa – which as an acronym translates into english as “Temporary Social Housing”. This relates to a social programme which has been running for some years as a joint effort between the City of Milan and various housing associations.

RESIDENCE 48 BONOMELLI RESHAPING HOUSING PROJECT 2018 Keeping in mind the limited time these families have in the RST, we aspire to provide them value during their stay and also afterwards, making the Bonomelli RST an expirience they arrived to under negative circumstances, but will hopefully have a positive impact on their lives even afterwards.

Wider and brighter living spaces, various storage solutions and numerous spaces to experience creates a multifunctional RST, which gives better response to individual and household’s needs.

In - Line Services: Moveable sliding doors create a room between the shower and the toilet, expanding the bathroom to a large size one. At the same time, this space is a separating path between the children’s room and the living room.

Farming, Energy production and Waste management systems (FEWs) to the house of the 21st century. To achieve this, aquaculture and biodiesel are chosen as technologies. These technologies would be in a cycle with the existing canal located in the site and with the new corn fields surrounding the house. The site is a rural area located in Cremona, Italy. The project stems from Design strategy is to inrethinking of existing liv- tegrate the corn field, ing models by integrating aqua tanks and the ZERO+ looks at the transformation of dwelling in the city of Milan, in the context of climate change and as a result of the new imperatives of the European Challenge,20/20/20: reducing greenhouse gases by 20%, increasing energy efficiency by 20% and reaching 20% of renewable energy by 2020.
