Five tens lights out programme In order to instill the idea of energy conservation in young minds, 5 tens lights out programme was launhed at Kalamandir Matric Hr. Sec School during their annual sports meet. M. B. Nirmal, founder, Exnora International launched the programme and declared the silver jubilee annual sports meet open. Various sports events which included group events were conducted right from std I to XII and the winners were awarded with prizes. J.Nadarajan, asst. manager IOB was the chief guest. He is also the gold medalist of SAF games in volleyball Match.This year, to create awareness among the public about global warming and save our mother earth programme, the events and the sports activities were based on the theme. Students in green dress with the slogan save mother earth demonstrated
5 tens lights out, importance of planting plants and the need to protect our national symbols and wildlife with a kids march past to create an awareness among the public to switch off their lights for 10 minutes at 10 p.m. on 10th day of 10th month, 2010th year which will lead to energy conservation. The diamond house of the school won the Nethaji Cricket club trophy and the Man of the Match award
was given to Master L. Pavithran and the overall championship trophy for the Silver Jubilee year Annual Sports Meet went to the Diamond Group. The secretary of the school, Shiv Jeyaram Sharma, welcomed the gathering.
