Congrats Rahman Jai Ho! Chennaites greet music legend

Photos - Rajesh The Mozart of Madras was given a rousing welcome when he arrived with two Oscars here in the city in the early hours of Thursday. Scores of people, fans and people from film industry gathered to receive the music maestro with bouquets, garlands and Jai Ho messages.Drummer Sivamani was seen welcoming the music wizard to the tunes of a band beat. A group of Chenda artistes performed the traditional melam when Rahman set his foot on the soil after his victory. Our correspondent caught

up with the music maestro On his inspiration to do Slumdog Millionaire I did the movie just because of Danny Boyle. He can give a hit with any kind of story line. He is a legendary director. About his achievement It's an award for an Indian artist. I am just their representative The form of music he likes the most Any devotional music is close to my heart. Where will you keep this Oscar award? Definitely, in my Chennai studio only

About his current Hollywood projects As of now I have signed for two movies. About your symphony orchestra It will take three more years to accomplish that dream. Your proud moment I consider performing at the Oscar award ceremony as the proud moment than winning it. Actually I didn't get much time to rejoice my success as I had to perform within a few minutes. Speaking in Tamil Hollywood is a center stage. Every country has won Oscar and this time it was

India's time. So being an Indian I spoke in my language. And I believe we will achieve this again. There are many more talents in our country. Attempt to score music for new Thamizh Vazhthu Yes, It's true. Once the lyrics are ready I will start working on it. About hate and love that he spoke in Oscar Our country is separated by caste, religion, East, West, South and North. So love is the only thing, which can unify people. It can be achieved with music. It doesn't need any language.
