News For Chennai South constituency - Mrs. Jyothy Mrs Jyothi is a candidate contesting the coming parliamentary election from South Chennai c o n s t i t u e n c y. Vadapalani Times in a chat with her You are from a spiritual organisation and how do you link yourself to politics? Ans: Yes, it is true that I belong to a spiritual organisation – Pyramid Spiritual Society Movement (PSSM) founded by Brahmarshi Patriji with the principles of Ve g e t a r i a n i s m a n d Meditation. Now we have stepped into politics through Pyramid Party of India. Our founding theme is based on the saying of great spiritualist Socrates, “Philosophers should rule the country”. Politics is not separate and the ruler is one among the people. That is why we say “As the people….. So the ruler……”. If all the people are good and unselfish, the ruler, from among them will automatically be good and unselfish. This is our main aim and motto. It is only by practicing Vegetarianism and Meditation, one can think unselfishly and one can become selfdisciplined. So spirituality has a very important role in politics. At present Indian culture is losing its charm. How do you think your principles will reach general public? Ans: India, though not a developed nation, is recognised by the world because of its spiritual background. However, at present, with the current

state of affairs, our country has lost its original form. General public have started realising this and are waiting to welcome back our society and our principles based on culture and spirituality. Everyone has got tired of political interference in every aspect of life and wants a change. So wherever we go, whomever we meet, there is a positive reply.

Ans: Wherever I live, central or south, it is my duty to know the requirement of my constituency's people. To

locality. What will be your priorities, if elected? Ans: I have already

4. Education will be made compulsory and totally free up to graduation. 5. The outdated Education & Examination system will be revamped and the students will have the right to choose a combination of courses based on their intuitive interests to learn. Appropriate guidance and counselling will be provided in full measure.

Why did you select Chennai South as your constituency? Ans: Ours is a spiritual party with a concept and a message. So we collectively wanted to spread the message of spirituality and vegetarianism throughout Chennai. So each one of us selected one constitution. There is no particular reason for selecting this constituency. What are your plans for residents of Chennai? Ans: (1) Making meditation compulsory in all schools and colleges. (2) To emphasise the i m p o r t a n c e o f vegetarianism. Other than these I don't want to tell much about our action plans. Because, whatever had to be done should be done for the development of people, and it is my duty. And I am selected and elected to do this duty alone. So I assure that I will deliver all my duties with utmost sincerity. Though not a resident of Chennai South, you are contesting from this a r e a . A r e y o u apprehensive about competing with others?

6. Financial assistance and every support required for proper and equal education will be provided to all the economically weaker sections of the society irrespective caste, creed and religion. serve this purpose, I have my office in each and every ward of my constituencyto receive the grievances and address their issues immediately. By contesting in this election, what are your plans? Whether you want to create an identity for yourself or promote the aims and principles of Pyramid Party of India?

spoken a lot about this. Anyhow I would explain… 1. Every citizen will be provided access to Free Health Care facilities. 2. Essential commodities will be made available uninterruptedly through a revamped Public Supply System.

Ans: The main aim of Pyramid Party of India is to spread the message of Ve g e t a r i a n i s m a n d Meditation. So we are contesting in this election to promote the aims and principles of Pyramid Party of India. We are least interested to create a personal identity in the

Tree cutting will be prohibited and will be considered a crime. A rural afforestation is on the main agenda of Pyramid Party of India. 12. Killing of any animal will be banned. What is the message you want to convey to voters? Ans: First and foremost I would like to request that each and every person, who is a citizen of India and is above 18 years of age, has to vote. It is our fundamental right. If we don't make use of our votes, we are the losers. So, each one has to think and vote for the right person to form a right Government.

Navaneeth`s arrest in Karachi. Officials warn Navaneeth`s family members not to go to the media. Conflict starts in the mind of Pournami and among the family members. Major Chandrakanth, a relative of Navaneeth, handles the critical situation and takes steps one by one. He arranges Pournami to talk to Navaneeth and also to the Prime Minister. The conversation between husband and wife takes a turn, when they arrive at a point that nation is important and not the individual emotions. Navaneeth disagrees with Pakistan's plan and the same has been conveyed to the Prime Minister with the controlled emotion impact and with stubborn mind. Prime Minister and the Major were shocked at the couple's decision and they bow for the couple's patriotism. The serious scenes were handled well in the play. The first part is

humorous because of the mannerisms of the characters. The artistes are K.Renuka as Pournami, Kavya Sathiyadas as Bhama, Fathima Babu as Poonguzhili, Jannal Lakshmi as Dhanam, Ravikanth as Sethuram, Premsai as Navaneeth, T.M.Karthik as Sundar, Anand as Gokulnath, K.R.Nagaraj as Shanmugam, Kalyanjee as Kalyan Singh and Poovilangu Mohan as Major Chandrakanth. The climax scenes appeal to the audience as it kindles patriotism. The coordination and dedication of the technicians of the play is praise-worthy. The powerful dialogues are by Sreevathson. Rajesh Vaidya has scored the music and Mahathi has sung the song. Giridharan has scored the original background score and Amir Jaan, was the associate director. - Sharma
