Children's Day celebrated Felicitation for school secretary
I am a diabetic for the past six years. I have been taking medicines for that. However, nowadays I feel very hungry by noon and feel palpitation and giddiness if I delay my food. This is due to low blood sugar that occurs during the periods between your food timings. This is very common in diabetics, especially around noon, as it is the time before your lunch. For a diabetic patient timely intake of food is very important. They should also avoid sweet rich diet. A diabetes affected person is requested to take regular food intake with three major feed (i.e. breakfast, lunch and dinner) and three small feed in between (mid- morning snacks, mid-evening snacks and bedtime snacks). Food stuff like that of tea or coffee without sugar or buttermilk or sugar free biscuits or vegetable salad or vegetable sandwich or vegetarian soup or some selective fruit salad can be taken in the mid- morning to avoid low blood sugar levels. Whatever the diabetes medicines, it will work 24 hours to bring down your blood sugar level; so patients have to take regular food at appropriate timings to avoid low blood sugar levels. Narthaka Sikhamani award for Ramli
Ramli Ibrahim, odissi and bharathanatyam exponent was awarded Narthaka Sikhamani by Natyanjali Trust on the occasion of its Third Narthaka Natya Festival held at Bharathiya V i d y a B h a v a n . Padmabhooshan Alarmel Valli inaugurated the third edition of the Narthaka Natya Festival. Axcel Saurer, Deputy Counsel General of the Republic of Germany was the guest of
honour. While felicitating Ramli Ibrahim, Alarmel Valli expressed her happiness and said that it is apt to honour a dancer like Ramli, a well known internationally a c c l a i m e d d a n c e r, choreographer and teacher. Ramli was awarded with a cash award and was honoured with Narthaka Sikhamani title, as suggested by eminent bharathanatyam guru
Dhananjayan. Ramli, a mechanical e n g i n e e r, s t a r t e d h i s creative journey very early in life. He found his form of expression through choreography. Ramli`s presentation on navarasa and dasavathar in odissi style enthralled the audience.

Melodious concert N.S.Vignesh, disciple of Tambaram Sundaresan, performed a vocal concert at the V.D.S.Arts Academy as part of its 2502 n d programme. He commenced his concert with Vasantha raga varnam. Papanasam Sivan`s Mooladhare Moorthe in Hamsadhwani raga set to adi was a good start. Suddha Dhanyasi raga was selected as the sub-main and a brief alapana was performed to exhibit its
l a k s h a n a . S r e e Parthasarathi was performed in that raga which was good. Syama Sastri`s Vegame Nannu Brova in Lalitha raga depicted good diction. Vocalist maintained a clear diction throughout. Maruvakave o manasaa was melodious. Keervani was selected as the main raga of the evening. Thiagaraja`s Kaligi Unte Kada Kalgunu was performed with a
detailed alapana of Keervani. The neraval –“ Bhagavathadre sarudagu Naarada Prahlaada Bhadrachala Ramadasulu” was a praiseworthy attempt. The diction and split up of t he words were very impressive. Nambi Kettavar Evarayya in Hindolam as thukada was melodious. Vijay on the violin and Karthik on the mridangam supported the artiste with enthusiasm.

Academy appreciated Vignesh for his talent and guru's training. Karthik, disciple of K . V. P r a s a d o n t h e mridangam and Ramya Ramesh, disciple of V. R a j a s e k h a r o n t h e ghatam gave a very good instrumental support. Ramya`s thaniavathanam needs a special mention.
Ganesh, secretary of VDS appreciated Vignesh for his alapana and his paadantharam. He suggested to take better care about the time factor.

Academy is all set to host a series- Chennai Cricket League, today at the IDPL ground in Ekkattuthangal. The finals will be held on December 6 at YMCA grounds. It all started when a group of about 20 youngsters, both students and employed, joined hands to pay tribute the cricket master. Ranjith of Friends Cricket Academy says that more than 16 cricket teams are going to participate in it. And it's sure bouncers and sixes are going to rule the game which is dedicated to the master blaster.
The teams selected on the basis of mere merit, will fight it out to win the trophy and Rs 5,000. There are also prizes for runners up, man of the match and bowler of the tournament. The organisers say that the aim of the Chennai Cricket League is to spot emerging talents. With a dozen sponsors trickling in, the organisers they want to make this an annual event and offer their support to charity. In the absence of beach cricket it seems this will provide an impetus to the famous gully cricket.
