I am 32-years-old. I have not been diagnosed as having diabetes. However, now a days, I am having dizziness two hours after taking food. The dizziness weans off after taking food. Do I have diabetes? The symptom you have is called as reactive hypoglycemia. Reactive hypoglycemia (or alimentary hypoglycemia) is low blood sugar that occurs after a meal — usually one to three hours after eating. Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) usually occurs while fasting. It is thought to represent a consequence of excessive insulin release triggered by the carbohydrate meal but continuing past the digestion and disposal of the glucose derived from the meal. Signs and symptoms of reactive hypoglycemia may include dizziness, palpitation, sweating, hunger, weakness, shakiness, sleepiness, lightheadedness, anxiety and confusion. Sometimes reactive hypoglycemia may be the early symptom of very early stage of diabetes, due to delay in early insulin release. For the majority of people, reactive hypoglycemia usually doesn't require medical treatment. It may help to pay attention to the timing and composition of your meals: Eat several small meals and snacks throughout the day, no more than three hours apart. Eat a well-balanced diet including lean and nonmeat sources of protein and high-fiber foods including whole grains, fruit and vegetables. Avoid or limit sugary foods, especially on an empty stomach. Be sure to eat food if you're consuming alcohol and avoid using sugary soft drinks as mixers. For some, particularly those who have had intestinal surgery (gastric bypass or surgery for the management of ulcer disease) further evaluation by a doctor may be warranted, but dietary changes are still recommended. It's also important to include physical activity in your daily routine. For details, contact : CHENDUR DIABETES #72, 7th Avenue, Ashok Nagar,Ch - 83. Ph : 9444484351. E-mail :- drshanmugaa@gmail.com

My father expired last month unexpectedly. We have a few properties in my father’s name. But he did not write any will. I wish to take care of my father’s stocks and debentures. I have two sisters who is already married. My sisters and brothers-in-law asked me to take care of the stocks and debentures and they do not want any share from it. Can I take care of my father’s stocks and debentures directly without his will or his authorization? According to the stocks and debentures you have to get a Succession Certificate from the court. Succession Certificate can be granted by the court to realize the debts and securities of the deceased and to give valid discharge. A succession certificate is a certificate when granted to the person empowers the person to receive interest or dividends, negotiate the transfer or any of them with respect to the securities of a deceased person (Securities means any bond, stock, debenture). You can file an application including the names of all other legal heirs as respondents in this subject matter in the court, where the properties of your father are situated or where he normally resided. Depending on the value of the estate of the deceased, the matter shall go to the type of court, which can conduct cases for that value. The court will issue a public notice in the newspaper and mandatory notice to all the respondents. If the court does not receive any objection from anyone in one and half months from the date of publication of the notice and after the respondents have given their no objection, the court will pass an order for issuance of the Succession Certificate to you. It will take about three to four months from date of filing to receive your certificate. After receiving Succession Certificate from the Court you can take care of your father’s stocks and debenture without any interference. But you have to share rest of the properties equally with your sisters, your mother as well as your grand mother (if she is alive), since there is no particular will. According to the law of inheritance and succession, if a Hindu male passes away without leaving a will for his successors, the hindu female shares equally with the male i.e. a son and daughter will succeed with equal shares and the wife as well as the mother of deceased also gets an equal share. You can send your queries related to legal problem to “menaka_joy@yahoo.com you will get the feed back in our next edition.
