JIVUBA

Jivuba was the eldest among the four daughters of Abhel Khachar of Gadhada. Jivuba got the icon of Lalji from her mother. She remained lost in devotion before Lalji's icon. She had intense love for God since her childhood.

Abhel Khachar disliked this as it was too early for her budding age. One day ……

What's all this non-sense, Jivuba?

Father, my Lalji and the icon are same

Jivuba, are you in your senses? Is God a wonderer, Whom you can encase in the icon? Grow up and then go for devotion.

Trust not this body of uncertain life. To wait till old age isn't in my heart But Abhel Khachar was not convinced. Stopping him from throwing away the icon of Lalji, Jivuba cried and spoke.....

Father, this icon is

the body of my God. At my word He comes to me, sits here. Why don't you believe me? Jivuba, let not your craze enter my heart! Prove that your Lalji is the soul of your icon!

In the evening...

My dear, be quick for drinking milk. Father is getting hotter and hotter! Pausing for a while, Jivuba said: This is the time for mid-day nap for my Lalji. Return in the evening when I offer milk to my Lalji.

Is this magic? Illusion? or truth?

To the surprise of all, Lalji assumed human form then drank milk and threw away the empty bowl! Hail to your devotion I was a fool, not to know it.

Lord Swaminarayan is omnipresent. He protects and fulfills all desires of His devotee, if he has true love for Him. As Jivuba had rock-like faith in Shri Hari, He drank milk through the icon of Lalji. Thus Jivuba became victorious before her father. With the grace of Shriji Maharaj, Jivuba could see all the sports of Shri Hari if He was hundreds of miles away from her! Such was the unparallel devotion and faith of Jivuba.
