Foster's LagerA symbol of Australia for almost a century. Since the Fosters brothers brewed the first distinctive Australian lager in 1888 the fame of Australia's favourite beer has grown around Australia and around the world . Foster's was first exported to South Africa during the Boer war. Today you can get a Foster's from Baghdad to Bangkok, San Francisco to Singapore . It's by far the biggest selling Australian beer in Britain . One of the top 10 selling imports in the U .S.A. Sold in every Australian state, Foster's outsells every other Australian brand of beer .
Australia's favourite beer.
Two positions on the ladder became much clearer last week ; North Old Boys a game c!ear at the top ,lid old Scotch a game clear on the bottom ! These two sides met at the Brens Oval, Royal Park and North reallydished up a hiding to Old Scotch 82 points in fact! North started very well with a 7 goal first quarter and never looked back from tha . Rover Edwards snared 5 goals . Are Scotch really as bad as it seems? If they don't improve soon they can start thinking about 1987 in B Section! I think they will improve and itwou!d not surprise me to se e ;hem cause an upset this week ! Ormond staged a great comeback against De La Salle at East Malvern to win by 13 points . Ormond started very well with the first 5 goals but De La pegged them back and led by 3 points etthe last break . De La Salle kicked away early in the last term and with some 20 minutes gone Ormond still needed three straight kicks to win . And win they did! Four goals in the last few minutes to snatch an important win . Cooke, Deveson and Maher, De La's stalwarts contributed well and Ormond's best were Tobin, Kingston and Tonkin with Joe Young bagging 5 goals . Mick Greene is back for De La but apparently Shane Murphy won't be making a comeback . Collegians made it three in a row after three losses at the start of the season, with a blitz of Ivanhoe to the tune of 106 points . The Lions scored 9 goals in the first quarter, 7 in the second and 10 in the third term . Greg Tregear, back "rom Essendon dominated his wing and on the other Richard Herman kicked 5 goals . It is a good centreline because in the middle is Peter Kahn from Adelade who walked into the Harry Trott pre-season thinking he had found the OM's . Tim Bennett is back and gives a lift to the Lions .
Not much can be said about Ivanhoe - their best were Adams, Flynn and the reliable Dominic Howard . University Blues had a comfortable 41 point win over Marcellin at Bulleen and are poised just out of the four . The Blues have been a little unlucky losing their previous two games fairly narrowly . Marcellin are just inconsistent ! Bulleen-Templestowe had a fine 66 point win over Caulfield Grammarians . The Bullants consolidated their place in the four with the victory but the wheels have really come off the Caulfield machine! Two great wins at the start of the season followed by four losses on the trot ! In B Section, Old Xaverians scrambled home from Old Melburnians by 2 points in a thriller, after OMs held a big lead at half time . Archie Salek told me OMs' third quarter was the worst he had seen in ten years! Lucky he did not get time to say that on World of Sport! The Old Xaverians and Parkside continue to make the pace in B Section . Selections, and this week could be the week of upsets . There might be a few very desperate clubs, some on the rebound and possibly wet grounds !

Peter French Previews To days Gam
Before looking at today's game I could not let my poor first up effort, especially in A Section wherr_ managed just one winner (Thanks North) go without some comment . In fact Bulleen-Templesto Laurie Aghan gave me a pay on Saturday night, with platitudes such as "I though you were: .coah better judge" and "I hope you keep picking against us" etc . Well Laurie remember it was only a hur,c and Caulfield like Marcellin are now realizing the big difference between B & A Sections . Collegians effort did not go unnoticed and Balaclava's loss to Preston in D Section sa they certainly exploited Ivanhoe's inabilaity to the club fall from top to fifth!!!! Quite a drop . Fiv get the ball our of the centre . From all accounts sides now share the lead in the Section, a remar Richard Herman, Peter Kahn (whats his backable situation . ground Ferg?) and Greg Tregear knocked up ****~***~*** :~~ ~ getting kicks and completely dominated the game . Well done Clayton in turning the tables cr Ormond and Mike McArthur-Allen - I take my Brunswick and St. Bedes ran out of puff again, hat off to you . Having jumped De La you then Peninsula O .B . going down narrowly by 1 saw all the good work of the first half disappear points . Bulleen United remain unbeaten follo~r in a shocking third term and were still 12 points ing a comfortable 45 point win over Uni Re :ts . down half way through the last quarter . Four ***~******~*** * quick goals, in a lowscoring game and victory a great effort - congratulations . Old Essendon are now outright leaders in ~ The Blues also proved they're a side to be Section following its impressive win over riv~, reckoned with and I'll tread warily in future challengers Uni High and Footscray Tech wor Messrs Forter, Schauble Lamb ! its third game on end and moved into the four2 *************~ * the expense of its opponents ytihitefriars . *~~*~~*~****** * B Section again produced its close matches . This time Old Xavs pipped OM's by just 2 points In G Section Old Carey reversed last week' : whilst St . Kilda's great accuracy saw them home two point loss against GTV9, Monash thrashec by a similar margin . However there's a protest in Parkside and Eltham gave me a winnerby narro~'. this game which may reverse the result . We'll ly beating Williamstown - the margin 7 points advise more on this next week . Old Paradians ***~*~*~:**~~** * only 5 points up at three quarter time showed greater fitness and finished on better than the Blacks to win by 19 points . Today's winners in A Section look a little easier to select than last week . I would certainly hope ~*********~*** * to improve on 1 out of 5 . C Section - now there's an engima . Ajax giantkillers a week back go down to Hampton, Kew pushed Thomastown all the way failing by just 16 points, Banyule jumped Old Trinity, at one stage it lead by 11 goals, and then held on for a strong 32 point win . A question mark now hangs over Old Trinity and their performances in the next few rounds will be keenly observed . Similarly Melbourne High has faltered in the past fortnight which has thrown C Section wideopen . In addition Old Carnberwell'won its first match beating Old Haileybury who thus blew a big chance of consolidating a more permanent place in the top four . ~**~*****~**~** 4
The Match of the Day will be played at Ormonc between the ' MOnds and competition leader; North Old Boys . North's form has been consistent and impressive . Their only slip was at De La in round 3 where they were pipped on the post . I'm sure Mike McArthur-alien agrees with me that its a pity the game is not being played away from the Gunn Street Reserve as if its wet the ground will not be conducive to the good football supporters would be entitled to expect from these two sides . However one of the tests of a good side is its ability to win anywhere and as I believe North is a good side I've selected them today . I'm told the Ormond brains trust pulled a 'Sheedy" last Saturday at De La by smuggling the 'retired' veteran Alan Naylor into THE AMATEUR FOOTBALLER, 1986
iJe No doubt the three week absence of the ,Don?Id brothers necessitated such an action s whethe r "1r~~~rnd? Hi experience and height will be 'n„aluable today against North's Paul Considine rcl peter Wright both of whom are in greatform . -~aylor will receive support from Ross Tonkin, ,ut Ormond do not have the link men to go with ir i orse, Tony Cahill and Brian Hanlon and it Luke ,: this type of player that will give North a decided :dvantage . Ivanhoe meet De La Salle in an absolutely ;,nl game for the Hoes, although De La will also e as anxious about the result . Ivanhoe must wi n it is to stay in touch with the leaders . Actually i,e next few weeks in A Section have real sig,,iicance for the likes of Old Scotch, Marcelli n id Caulfield who are already slipping behind . Do La almost won last week after playing only ,ne quarter and as its likely to be wet, heavy and muddy at the Boulevard, conditions which will .,,,our the visitors far more and so De La will win . ne return of captain Mick Greene is a real plus s his inspirational style will be needed today . Greene will be the ideal man to take on Messrs . Howard and Taylor and all at De La are delighted -ith the improved play of youngster Michael Sm ith who will give his skioper olenty of supp ort . Ivanhoe will be no pushover but De La have the record when it comes to adversity . Bupeen-Templestowe play Marcellin in a loca l derby and with the Bullants on the march and now in second spot Marcellin have no hope today . Their final quarter effort against Uni Blues last week was quite disgraceful especially when victory was there for the taking at one stage, an to allow the opposition to run over it in the way the Bluesdid, seven goals in the last 10 minutes, ,vas according to one supporter "the worst effort ve ever seen from a Marcellin side ." Coach Neil Le Leivre must have felt so too - he went home early . Besides any lack of character which migt be emerging Bulleen-Templestowe have far more experience and talent and Aghan's use of Shane Gilmore as a ruck rover has given the former full back a new lease of life and he is relishing his on ball role . Old Scotch are at home to Uni Blues and despite its thrashing at the hands of North last Saturday are not as bad as their bottom position indicates . In fact I wouldn't be surprised if they ::on today . Note I said surprised for in reality their form and confidence are right down whereas the Blues are now well within striking distance and, realizing that to stay there, you must beat the bottom sides . I select Uni Blues, whose ruck rovers Allen, Simon, Macaulay, Gust and Polkinghorne are all in great touch and are certain to orovide the Blues forwards with ample opportunities . The return of Don Mclnnes has been a great plus and when you throw in Tyquin and Curnow the Blues attack looks pretty formidable . Caulfield Grammarians play the in form Collegians at Oval 3 Albert Park . The' Fields must be scratching their heads as to what has gone wrong after such a promising start to the season . They have some fine players - Alan Nalder, Ray Berzins and Campbell Cooney are all in the State THE AMATEUR FOOTBALLER, 1986
Squad, John Kanis and Chris Stone have been selected as all Australian in past seasons whilst David Matthews, Dick Fish, the brothers Anderson, Phil Callil and James McIntyre to name but a few are all good players . No wonder therefore that Greg Tootell has had some sleepless nights of late . Well you're in for a few more Greg as Collegians are in such devastating form that you can thank your lucky stars that Marcellin and Scotch are playing worse than your crew . The Lions after a slow start have hit their straps and now that Schober and Bickford have adjusted to the tempo and Williams, Roberts and Kahn are at in top form the Lions goal to goal like is as good as there is in A Section . Around the flanks they have Stua rt Hinchen and Gary Irvine plus excellent wingers in Richard Herman and Greg Tregear . Possibly the only weakness at present is in the ruck where Chris Pollack is playing a lone hand . Collegians to win their 4th on end . In B Section Old Paradians take on Old Xaverians in the match of the day. Old Savs had a lucky escape last week against OMs which followed their loss to Old Brighton . this suggests their form has slipped and so I'll go for the home side to respond to coach Gerard Shalley's plea to win against his old side ! At Elsternwick Park Parkside whom I saw last Saturday meet St. Bernards. Both sides have played and beaten Fawkner in the last fortnight and did so by exploiting Fawkner's lack of pace . St. Bernards has youth on its side and if it is prepared to run all day I believe it could win . However sides that underrate Parkside suffer the penalty as the Devils have some very good players in Bradley, Williams, Page, Sonsonetti, Pavid and Pappas. Their experience, equal determination and the astute on field brain of captain coach John Wise who reminded me a lot of Ray Shaw in his heydaywith his display last Saturday are enough reasons to go for Parkside after dismissing them last week . In other matches winners will be Blacks at home over St . Kilda CBOC, Old Brighton at home against Fawkner and despite their good showing last Saturday I believe Therry has now picked up the pace of B Section and will beat OM's . In C Section I like Hampton Rovers at home to beat Banyule, Kew likewise overAjax, Old Halleybury to return to the winning list by surprising Thomastown (Andy Langford-Jones has promised to be there to discount the rumour) no A .L-J no Old Haileybury and Melbourne High to put a lid on Old Camberwell's euphoria . In the big one on Sunday Old Trinity's extra class should see them return to the winning list against a dogged St . Kevins. D Section winners Old Mentonians over West Brunswick, Coburg to inflict a second defeat on Balaclava, Monash to beat Power House, Heatherton against Old Ivanhoe and Preston to win at Albert Park against W .Brunswick. E Section Winners : Old Geelong to beat Brunswick Bulleen United to beat Clayton Peninsula OB to beat Elsternwic k St . Bedes to beat Williamstown CYMS 5
State Bank to beat Uni Reds F Section winners : Doveton (returning to 1985 form) overANZ Bank Commonwealth Bank in the match of the day to beat Footscray Tech (who have to chang e guernseys) St . Leonards to break the ice by beating Latrobe Uni High to beat St. Andrews Old Essendon to continue its unbeaten run by beating Whitefriars .
G Section winners: Old Carey to beat Monash Whites Parkside to beat Eltha m GTV9 to beat Williamstown CYM S Finally I would welcome any interested reac keen to break into journalism to give me a call, 531 5452, as there is always scope for a match reviewer! !

150 TO STATE BANK FULL FORWARD Congratulations to David "Jerka" Jenkins o n playing his 150th game for the State Bank today . David joined the club in 1977 and quickly showed his ability to kick goals . A member of the 1977 Premiership and 1980 Grand Final side s Jerka beehe hasocal otr~ ian every g position to kicka goal he always endeavoured to give a team mate the opportunity . Off the field Jerka has been an intregal part of the club . He hasserved on the General Committee, has been Secretary and currently organises the club's social activities . To reach 150 games is a magnificent feat and all at State Bank hope there are more "Goals" to come . S M ITHY REACHES 5 0 All at State Bank congratulate Greg Smith on reaching 50 games . Over the years Greg has played some great games for the club . Unfortunately he has been unable to maintain that form for successive games . However this year has been different, Greg has applied himself all year much to the delight and surprise of some supporters. Well done Greg and the Club hopes the next 50 are all of the standard of this year . UNIVERSITY BLUE S University Blues are constantly being reminded of the value of maintaining a Juniorteam in the competition, this time it is former junior Bruce Moirwho played his 100th game on April 19th . "Disco" is not only a very valuable utility player but is also the Blues Treasurer, a position forwhich many around the Club sayhe is ideall y

suited for, he is reputed to be very careful with the currency. Bruce is a year round sportman being a former Victorian, University and currently Richmond first eleven cricketer, he is a real nice guy who all the Blues hope will be around for many more seasons . 50 GA M ES AT HEATHERTO N this week sees Heatherton's Brett Pope take the field for his 50th game . "Popey" has just returned to the club determined to fulfill the promise he has always shown . An extremely' athletic and versatile player "Popey" is another youngster who started with Heatherton U/19's four seasons ago . Well done "Popey" we look forward to your next 50 games . OLD XAVERIAN S Old Xaverians would like to congratulate Mathew Hannaberry on his selection for Footscray in the V.F.L . The radio comments were favourable and we hope his form continues . During the early part of the season he attended all the Old Xaverians games he could and this was very encouraging for his former team mates . 50's AT OLD BRIGHTO N Three players have passed the fifty game mark at Old Brighton this season : John Clarkson, Gerry Bennett and Dave Witts . John isa mosttalented player . He represented Victoria (VAFA v Tasmania) in 1984 and was vice captain of our G ran Final side that year . The club is looking forward to John's leadership over the next 50 games, especially since he is one of only eight regular senior players to have played 50 games or more . Gerry (Gut) Bennett is the club's present vice captain, following up his appointment last season . Probably the club's most courageous player, Gerry's performances are remarkable considering his stubby stature . He is a major factor in Old Brighton's rise to B Grade and its play like his that will take the club to A Grade . Dave Watts is another goer who really enjoys his football . His 50th game in Brighton's victory over Old Xaverians two weeks ago, was his best, and promise of things to come . Congratulations guys from all supporters .

Monash's luck ran out when they went down by 2 points to De La Salle . It was De La's first win . 150 games to Spence Williams (Old Paradians) and Robbie Thompson (Old Melburnians) . 20 YEARS AGO - 196 6 In really wet and windy conditions, Melbourne High had to fight all the way to beat Caulfield Grammarians and retain their unbeaten record at the top of 'A' Section . Dominating players were Ian Turnbull, Geoff Dick and Gordon A rthur (M .H .S.) and Greg Tootell, Graeme Vorrath and Geoff Cayzer for Caulfield Grammarians . 'B' Section produced a boilover when Kew thrashed Ormond to the tune of 5 goals and knocked 'Monds out of top place . Stars were Walker, Taylor, Jenkins (Kew), and Voight, Rowell, Loutit for Ormond . Old Haileybury saluted Andy Home as their first playerto reach 1 00games with theclub and reported that he had missed only one game in his six years with the club - when his brother was married in 1962 . One of the original foundation members, Andy captained the side in 1961, 64 and 65, and had twice won the club's best and fairest . Eric Donaldson, Herb Larkin and Geoff Harris kept the 'Monds in it while "Cheeky" Bedford (wing), Jim Lillie (centre) and Graeme Cameron (half-back) were best for the CArdinals .
-PeOrsonaUty Pars ST ANDREW S All at St . Andrews would like to congratulate Chris Leopold on playing his 200th game today. Chris in his 15th season with the club starting with the U/13 team . Playing mainly in defence Chris is having another reliable season and is regularly in the best players. The two hundred games club at St . Andrews is fairly exclusive with Chris becoming only the seventh player to achieve this milestone . Although getting on in years there is no doubt that Chris still has the ability and determination to make quite a few more appearances for St . Andrews . Also to be congratulated is Terry B uckley and Leigh Esposito who both play their 50th games today. Solid players Terry and Leigh both are not afraid to throw their bodies into packs and use strength to allow team mates easy access to the football . With youth on both their sides it is with no doubt that they will both play many more matches for the Gold and Blue .
FIFTY UP AT OMF C All at OMFC would like to congratulate Nicr "Rafter" Owen on reaching his fitieth game witr the club . Although missing the whole of la, ; season due to a well earned holiday . Nick ha~ played consistently well in '86 to keep his sp,, ; safe (so far) in the senior side . Nick plays th,, typical backman's game where he always seemto turn defence into attack . We all hope Nickcan keep up this consistency th is year, and hopefulb be part of a senior premiership side . BRUNSWICK The Brunswick club wishes to recoanis . another 50 game achievement this week . ?eter Johnston another of our youngsters is to h~ congratulated on reaching this career highlight "Jocks" is a fine player as demonstrated by his equal best and fairest award last year and hi, effortsduring 1985 played a very important par : in our success. This year he has started a little slowly but we all look forward to better performances to come with Jock and his ability tc thrill the crowd with his great high marking .

Personality Pars KEW MILESTONE S 50 Games All at Kew would like to congratulate Tim O'Kalyi for passing this mark. Tim commenced with the U 19s in 1979 but after two seasons decided that winter months were better spent hunting foxes on the Nullarbour Plain . So, at long last, "Gomer" has passed the 50 game mark . We all hope that Tim makes the next 50 a little faster. 150 Games Joe Casuria commenced with Kew in 1976 and has played many fine games as a winger or utility player . Two notable achievements in Joe's career have been senior captain for 1983 and 3rd Best and Fairest for 1984 . Congratulations from all at Kew Joe and good luck for the next 50 .

"100 UP FOR TOM " All at Banyule would like to congratulate Martin Legge (Leggy) on playing his 100th game for the club against Old Trinity . Martin is an outstanding all round sportsman being not only a great footballer but brilliant baseballer and cricketer as well . Since beginning his career with Banyule "Leggy" has become known for his high flying, outstanding goal scoring asaforward and exceptional kicking . It is worth noting that all of Martin's games have been played in the senior tepm . Thisyear in the new role of ruck rover "Leggy" is giving the club plenty of drive . All at Banyule look forward to watching 'Tom' play many more games for the club .

G SECTION This week I would like to mention all the young boundary umpires who have started their umpiring apprenticeship with the V .A .F .A . We have approximately 20 boys from St . Bedes school, and under the guidance of former umpire Michael Petrie (teacher at St. Bedes) and Neville Nash (umpires adviser) these young aspiring lads train with all the senior men and women whenever possible and never complain when asked for that extra effort, and every Saturday they enjoy running the boundary in the U19 sections . I'm sure most of them are looking forward to becoming senior field or boundary umpires in the future . As wee[ as the boys from St . bedes we have recruited approximately another 8'boys and 2 girls boundary umpires and with Michael, Neville and everyone connected with the V .A.F .A .U .A . helping and encouraging these young men and women, the future of umpiring in the Amateurs is looking very promising indeed . Who was the "B" grade field umpire, who ran the boundary during a recent night match and ate 4 pies and 1 sausage roll % hour before the match started . Must have a wonderful digestive system and a big heart, because he ran very well . (Umpires weekly award appropriate here, I believe eh! Social Sec .) .
As most of you would be aware during last season the V .A .F .A . and V.F .A . had'an interchange of field umpires on two occasions and it was very successful . Today we welcome Tony Ward from the V .F .A . who will be officiating in the A Section match Old Scotch v Uni Blues with Ron Lippold and Colin King from the V .A .F .A . will be umpiring the match Northcote v Prahran on Sunday . We wish both umpires well and look forward to continuing the excellent relationship between the two Associations .

50 TO GRANT Y All at F .I .T . congratulate PeterGranton playing his 50th senior game against St . Leonards three weeks ago . (Sorry I missed it Peter) . Peter is recognised as the leading exponent of the "Krakouer" kicking style in F Section . Peter's lean frame has not prevented him from playing many fine games with the "Tech" . Well done Peter and good luck against your employer (Commonwealth Bank) today .
PersÂŽn ty Pars 100 GAME MILESTONE AT BALACLAVA Players and supporters at Balaclava woul d like to congratulate Bernie Rafferty on playing his 100th game against Powerhouse recently . Raffers has been one of Balaclava's favourite sons for a few years now, and has proven himself a handy, all round footballer. Raffers is an integral part of the senior side this year, and besides having the ability to break through even the tightest defence with rugged robust play, he is capable of pulling down a "screamer" and kicking the impossible goa . A demolitian expert both on and off the field who likes nothing beter than a quiet ale after a job well done, Raffers played a big part in our last grand final win in 1984, and we hope he has the opportunity for a repeat performance this year . Congratulations on your achievements in the past Bernie, and we hope to see you and Karen around the place for a while yet .
FINALLY FIFTY AT F .I .T . Peter "Rio" Allen finally plays his 50th game with F.I .T. today. It has taken "Rio" 12 years to reach this milestone having made his debut in 1975 . However he is producing the best form of his career this season . Without doubt his best ever performance for F .I .T . was produced last Saturday in the Whitefriars mud . "Rio" is always there when the keg is tapped and never leaves until its empty . Well done "Rio" and lets make the next 50 a bit quicker . 50th GAME AT AJA X all at Ajax congratulate Ashley Kausman who last week played his 50th game . Ashley joined the club in 1982 and has been a regular senior player usually in a key position, mostlyfull back . Ashley is a highly skilled footballer as well as an excellent basketballer and cricketer . Ashley is renowned for his tremendous leaps and judgement and we would all like to see "The Doctor" play another 50 games at Ajax . 50th FOR " DUCKKA " Fiftieth game up today, for John Henderson from Old Geelong . Well done "Duckka" and let's see a lot of goals to mark the occasion .

HUNDRED TO JEZZ A All at Peninsula Old Boys join in congratulating Andrew "Jezza" Powell on achieving 100 senior games this week . Jezza has been a great player getting the ball out of the centre and always on the bottom of the packs . He has kicked goals regularly and is always a stumbling block for the opposition . He does not leave all his good work on the ground . He has been a valuable committee man and has put in many tireless hoursdoing thejobsthat make the club run . He has been with the Pirates since our inception in 1980 . Well done Jezza, I bet you get high on this one . 50 GAMES AT CENTENARY CLU B In this our 100th year, we of the Williamstown C .Y.M .S ., both past and present, must heap praise on our 1985 club champion Steve Fletcher, for playing his 50th game against State Bank . Despite injury "Fletch" is continuing his supremacy in the back line which is a happy consolation for the club presently suffering from poor form and debilitating injuries . "Fletch" do not flinch we need another 50 of the same .
CONGRATS FROM ALL AT DOVETON SJOC Congratulation to Bill "Pill" Guelen on playi n his 100th game against St . Leonards last week . Bill has held the Reserve Team's full back position since our first season and done a fair bit more than just play 100 games . Bill is currently working as our Club's Secretary for season 86 . bill is somewhat quiet by nature but this melt into the ground gentleman whould be very much missed given his service to Doveton SJOC . Congratulations also go to Mark Polglaise on playing 50 club games for Doveton SJOC recently . Mark has proven to be quite a versatile player, being utilised in almostany position over the last 5 years and a key part in our most successful team last year, "Porky" is also on this season's Committee . Also of note is that Mark's brother Darren has also started to play for us . 50th GAME AT WEST BRUNSWICK Congratulations to John Paul Traynoron reaching his 50th game for West Brunswick . "J .P ." mentioned that his game against Coburg was his 52st game - a point not lost with this scribe and so todays game is his 52nd . "J .P ." has developed into a fine footballer since joining the club afewyearsagoasa shy, thin and unassumming lad and now is one of the teams "guns" as well asdeputyvice captain for the seniors . "J .P." has great skills being able to dispose of the ball by both hand and foot on either side of the body with great proficiency . Well done J .P . on playing your 50th and rest assured that the accreditation will not be overlooked for your 100th . 200 PLUS AT ST . KILDA CBO C A belated but no less hearty congratulations to Mark Kay who today plays his 214th game (an arithmatical error occurred in 1985 for which this reliable press correspondent denies responsibilty) . Mark commenced his playing career in 1974 from the school . A versatile strong courageous player Mark's No . 19 has been seen in attack, defence, ruck-roving, centre (and interchange) and also as Captain/Coach of the reserves in 1984 . His contribution on the field and as a member of our committee over the years has been of great value . St . Kilda CBOC committeemen, players and supporters congratulate you on today's achievementand thank you for your off field contribution . Well done Pole !
