ACKNOWLEDGMENT

It all started with a presentation delivered by Shailesh Devi sir at our campus over his designs, work patterns, ideologies, etc. what fascinated me the most was his overall design process. I wanted to learn more about his thoughts behind every design, also the ideologies and how he translates metaphors into physicality.

So while choosing an internship for myself, working for him was my top priority hence I chose this workplace and his guidance as one of my goals/ expectations from this internship.

About Within N Without

The studio space is like a dream world. The open door office is a place where one can be himself and express his ideas without any constraints. The studio space itself tells one the journey of life and has spaces that encourage you to think beyond one perception.

I’ve worked at the studio for almost a 6 month now, and it has been a great experience. I have learnt how to work along with my seniors, how to be more organized and how to be more focused on what I am doing. The studio has a lot of knowledge about design and architecture, as well as being very creative in their work. Wthin N Without is a multi disciplinary firm working on various scales of projects, right from small farmhouses to a commercial building. The firm takes spiritual buildings like, Temples, Mosques, Gurudwara, meditation centres and more.

A lot of importance is given to the contextual response and the experiences it generates in the space within. The space can be thought of as a container for an idea. A lot of thought goes into how this idea will work with its surrounding elements such as people, nature and geology etc.
