Personal Essay By Kenneth Heaivilin My name is Kenneth Heaivilin. I was born on March 20, 1997 and I live at 212 East Missouri. This essay will be about my family history, what my name means (First and last), and the origin of my family. I have done research and I have found a website where one of my distant relatives in England have told and explained the family history. My first name was Originated in Scotland and is an Anglicized form of either the Pictish name Ciniod or the Goidelic name Cináed, often thought to mean “Born of fire”. But ultimately derives from the shared prototype with Kennedy; Cundagius, Originally Cornish after which was carried north to Valentia and borne by Cunedda, founder of Gwynedd. Its popularity among the Britons also led to another form in welsh Cenydd or Cennydd. My last name has no official meaning to it but has a lot of history behind it. Long before my ancestors came to America during the revolution, the original last name was “Haviland” and it originated from the French surname “Abilant” and was the name of an abandoned fortress in Neustria. Neustria is a country directly in between France and the English channel. The Original family crest that was given to the Havilands after assisting William the Conqueror take over England around the year 1150 was a shield, embroidered in gold leaf, and helmet set on top of the shield, and the family moto displayed on the bottom “ Dominus Fortissima Turris “

Overall, My family has quite an interesting history and I one day wish to see their ancient homelands and their ancient palaces. Also I wish to see my family that directly descended from my ancestors.
