Your business must be an extension of yourself. If you understand the importance of authenticity in business, then you know how true this statement is. Before I began hanging around and learning from highly successful people in this industry, I thought that it was the deal itself that determined my success. It wasn’t until after I failed at 10+ business opportunities within a 4-year period did I realize why people (including myself) jumped from one opportunity to the next.
It was because I was trying to find things I could be passionate about in my business instead of finding a business that already fit my passions! This is why your business must be an extension of yourself. People are looking for authenticity. Even if you feel that your opportunity is the ‘best thing since sliced bread’, your audience will not feel it until they feel YOU. And if you are not in alignment with what your business opportunity represents, your ability to influence is severely handicapped.
If you are already building a business, your action today is to take a look at how you show up. Are you living your life with passion and purpose? If not, how come? It may be time to reassess your role in the marketplace. If you are not currently building a business, look at your job and do the same exercise.
