These boards inspired by “big beauty” car spots needed creative solutions. I designed a set in which we created a matte painting for the wide shot. Due to the challenging budget, we used an architectural renderer I had hired for many non-film projects. The solution: mini sets were built and propped. A 3 wall set was built with stair element for the living room, and a 2 wall set was created for the “highway” run on a stripped roadway carpet.

RICO 4 a.m. Shoot Day. I awoke to 5� of snow covering Park Avenue. Made it to the location to find the Lever house freight elevator was out of order. The sets had to be cut into several pieces on 53rd Street and reassembled. The backstory makes me especially appreciate this spot.

The assignment: build 6 authentic looking American bathrooms in Prague. American shower heads in the newly established Czech Republic ? My Chicago decorator caught a flight and brought in a bag full. Beautiful tile: flown in from Italy. The hero/primary shower wall was designed to emulate the lines of a new Schick razor.
