ABOUT

Hello, My name is Valerie and I am 25 year old, coming from a beautiful tropical country, Indonesia. I am a young ambitious architect seeking professional growth and experience to further enhance my expertise in architecture and BIM process.

I am interested in 3D BIM and focus with Level of Development (LOD) 100 with preliminary design- (LOD) 400 for construction. I believe that the 3D visualization capabilities of 3D BIM enables to understand and communicate the project information more easily and enables an accurate multi-disciplinary, as in architectural MEP and structural.

Individual Project

The first project is a competition by Egon Eiermann Award 2019 The competition is about dealing with a gap or suitable area within a freely selected city. The gap can fill with a new building or an extension of an existing building with the premise of giving the surrounding urban space a new quality.

The choosen location project is carried out in Khlong Toei District is a district in central Bangkok, long known for its slum. The most common problems in Khlong Toei communities often include improper housing under the highway and increased exposure to environmental threats such as flooding. Also Klong Toei slum is known as the most drug-prone.

Based on the site and community background, my architectural solution was create a mixed-use housing and drug rehabilitation center which focus on the quality of the space requirements program, create a stimulating environment in urban area, ecological area, comfortable for the patients and a sustainable building

Location: Under Highway Chalerm Maha Nakhom Expy, Khlong Toei, Bangkok, Thailand

The project is a elective course called interdisciplinary project. We had a interior renovation project of old building located at Stockholmer Str. beside the harbour Wismar. The previous function this building is a grains storage and we proposed a new function which adapt to the needs of the clients and the conditions of surrounding, a working place

Not only purpose a new idea of the design, we also learned the feasiblity study, did calculation of refurbishment detail and some new knowledge of real estate basics. This project is a group project consist of architecture students and business students work together to simulate work in the real life.

The aim of design is to keep the footprint of the old and injecting new elements in exciting ways.Create a interesting mood for work space with warm material, modified furnitures and hanging garden, and new experience to the users for relaxation in “thinking box” and hallway in the second floor. Making use of the double volume space also to receive more space.

Personal contribution has been on all the part of the project, from the urban studies, brainstroming the concept, making the furniture and choosing the material and visualisation the 3D model and rendering.

In the current era, the typology of police station has totally been blurred, there is no longer a standard shape or certain material that represented the whole function. Our approach is to abstract the traditional house familiar to the local tribe (Betawi) such as the form, design element, and most importantly, the philosophy. The traditional philosophy that had been lost to the current generation will be reenacted by the elders upon spotting this police station

Selected site is in Ciracas, East Jakarta, Indonesia. The site was previously occupied by a police station whicht got burned down by the public due to a controversial case that was not solved by the policemen in the area. The design strives to repair bond between people, by connecting the building to a nearby mosque to further enhance the togetherness. For instance, an event or bonding event after Friday Prayer in the plaza such as community lunch or communal football game.

All in all, the design addressess the bitter relationship between the police and neighbour, at the same time provides security to the neighbourhood and exists as a landmark to orientate the public in an urban context. The idea of being transparent will ensure the residents of their safety and break the image of being “corrupt” at least by certain degree. The spaces are also designed so that victims will not face so much pressure when going to the

Selected site is in Neu Vahr Nord, Bremen, Germany. The plot of the project is a corner plot whose direct surroundings, from terraced houses to skyscrapers, contains all the building typologies that characterise Vahr. Regarding to the research of the site visit and interview with some inhabitants in Neu Vahr Nord, the issues for this area are undefined green space, wide desserted pedestrian and incovenient dissable access. Besides, the presentage of eldery inhabitants is relatively high by 70% therefore i inject a barrierefrei concept for urban planning and architectural building concept. Some acrhitectural features have implemented into interior of the apartment.

To cope the issues the design idea strives to build a building and its surroundings look like, in which people can live well, who live according to the principle of “sharing instead of owning” and which accompanying infrastructure do people and households need in the context of new forms of mobility.

The protection of forests because their association with Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church is a worldwide phenomenon. It is the ancient church which has a long story on planting, protecting and preserving of forest.

Through this project, an attempt has been made to build a complex area of chapel and support facilities, seedbank, for community in the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, in a way to contribute in growing the forest instead of only preserving them in the line with the principle of Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church. The aim of the project is junction point for exchanging knowledge and spreading awareness about drastic depleting forests in their country.

The project covers an area of 4.84 hectares. Therefore, the design planning of landscape plays an important role in this project for maintaining the ecological and genetic diversity of populations and communities. The experience of chapel is affected by the architectural surface which influences various parameters such as quality of organization and hierarchy of space, volume and proportion, light and sound, texture and heaviness of built mass.

Three main gated have manifold meaning: symbols of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit)

Light has been linked with divinity and holiness in many different religions. A “light cannons “is created in the east part of the chapel with perforated red brick arrangement in between. The sunlight penetrate the opening and create a different ambience by bricks colours and experience very unique shadowing in every specific time. Also the african pattern opening

on the facade will generate dots of light on the wall and floor which later mysteriously turn into waves of pattern light. The interior of the church reveals a rammed earth cynlinder with dynamic slanted roofs which is given a spiritual essence through its use of natural light. The light that comes reflect to rammed earth wall enhances the simplicity

of raw material by texture and its warm colours. Openings in the slanted roofs are used to direct beams of light up and down into the interior and exterior at night, especially in first tier of the church (qine mehelet), where walls are optimized for iconographic mural paintings.

The Townhouse

Revit Project 2018

The townhouse project has designed to meet the needs of small household or single family with consist of four people. The design result in this project is a combination of the modern concept of multi-stories residential buildings with a flat roof and traditional opening forms. Adding a roof deck is a trendy accessory in newly built townhouses in town-centre-style communities in the suburbs.

A floorplan development with a variable modular façade of 8 m and depth of 14 m. The classical spaces layout – living and service area on the ground level and sleeping area on the upper floor. According to the functional distribution on the ground floor, the design has the entrance hall that leads to the living space consisting of open kitchen with bar table, dining area, and living room. Between the kitchen area and the entrance, there is internal staircase which its underneath the bathroom / laundry, and the storage room have been created.
