STUDIO GHIBLI X BTS Welcome to the Studio Ghibli x BTS fanbook, a project brought to you by an incredible group of Instagram artists who share a love for Studio Ghibli and BTS. daif_uu I drew Jungkook as Princess Mononoke because y’all probably know why, I always wanted to draw him as Mononke and I’m glad I got the opportunity to join this collab with amazing artists!
Final retouches I applied a little bit of zooming glitch and a drawing paper texture.
I started off with sketch of course, then a messy lineart , next I added base colors which I played alot I felt like it doesnt look right at all but I somehow atleast manage to make it okay along with the drawing, thanks to «multiply» for making it look better, after adding that I shaded it, I also added leaves so the drawing looks atleast have life on it.

neveszero_ Spirited away is my favorite movie from studio Ghibli so I wanted to honor this beautiful animation by creating a fanart. I chose the flower scene because for me personally it was very memorable and esthetic. My process is usually very messy. I start with basic sketch and I put base colors on separate layer. Then I proceed to finish the character first and then the background. I like using soft brushes and vibrant colors - that way I can achieve a dreamy effect. In the end I merge all of the layers and paint everything.

dokyeom.jpg The reason why I went with this combination is because I felt like both of them suit each other. Suga and San may seem cold at first glance but are actually really sweet and admirable. On top of that Mononoke hime is one of my favorite childhood movies that I still adore to this day.

My process is pretty simple. I start off with really quick sketch and then I polish it up. After that I do the line art, erase the guide lines, and start up the fun part - painting. I usually paint with soft colors (in case of messing up) and If i want more vibrant look, i just color

valeton_vi Spirited away is truly my favourite Ghibli movie from the early childhood. I’ve decided to draw Kim-line as the head of Aburaya Bathhouse and his two dragons. In my opinion, Seokjin would be an excellent and wise owner for the Bathhouse. Also Taehyung and Namjoon are the dragons of Sun and Moon, which is represented in their clothes. As for the process, I usually start my drawing with a quick but detailed sketch, then goes line art and then the colouring, the most important part for me. I’m trying to pay a lot of attention to the details and meanings, while finishing the drawing.

kishidanchou I think Hoseok meshes very well with Kiki’s Delivery Service. In such a whimsical and lovely movie he would blend right into the cozy world and it’s happy atmosphere. I start my drawings a little differently each time, I like to experiment with different techniques. For this piece I started with a pink sketch to work through the pose / idea of the piece and then went over in black to line it. I blocked in some flat colors and then started painting over the top while adjusting colors & brightness / saturation. Then I add extra details and a light noise filter for more texture!

sul.bing I’ve always thought that Taehyung fits the vibe of Howl so well: playful, mysterious, with a dark, powerful side and deadly beautiful as well. I start off all my pieces with a rough sketch, then clean it up and add more details. The next step is testing out colors to portray mood and lighting. Once I’ve decided on the palette, I zoom in and paint in detail while adjusting the colors and size of the painting. Final touch ups include color saturation adjustments and highlights.

proteadrinker I decided to do Whisper of the Heart as the movie’s message is very important to me and I felt like Jungkook and Yoongi fit the characters well. Jungkook, like Shizuku, always devotes himself to pursuing new talents and strives for his best while Yoongi, like Seiji, unrelentingly follows his dreams no matter the difficulty or obstacles in his way.

grosspanda I love Tonari no Totoro so much, I can say that I grow with the movie. When it comes to BTS all I can think is Jimin and Jungkook, brothers who find Totoro in the depths of the forest. Finally, I’m so happy to be a part of this collaboration. Everyone doing great. Im not gonna lie that I felt intimidated and a bit discouraged but I think I did pretty well. Hopefully my piece and everyone’s arts could bring joy to all of you. I would like to hear it from you too^^

mlygose painting this peaceful scene of Yoongi as Arrietty I made Yoongi as Arrietty because Arrietty is one going home while bringing some leaves to decor of my favorite ghibli movie and i really love the background art and the story and I guess this piece his room with. is just a tribute of my love for that movie and also... Yoongi. I painted this piece with watercolor and I draw Yoongi the way I see him, just a cute, chubby cheeks, tiny boy, and I kept that beautiful color I love so much from the movie in this piece. I keep the deckled paper texture because i love this aspect about traditional art. All in all I’m pretty happy with how this piece turned out and I really enjoyed

tokehashi As we know, traditionally witches are supposed to leave their house for a year to live surrounded by people and help them with their magic. Well, our 13-year-old Kookie overfulfilled the plan a bit. My drawings are always a whole mess from the very beginning, but I’ve tried to clean it up at least a little bit (too ashamed to share that mess). Is it a sketch? Is it a line art? Nobody knows and I don’t know either. Then I put some nice colors and BOOM! something happens without me noticing it. There you have it. Beautiful Kookie amazed by a firefly.

amrerascribbles The reason I chose Taehyung in the theme of My neighbor Totoro is because whenever I watched that movie I felt like there’s something familiar about the movie and then I found out the vibes it gives is all warm, friendly, caring and calming just like Taehyung he really gives off that feeling and so does the movie!
to convey off the message of warmth. I felt really nice drawing and making this and I’m so grateful to combine two of my favorite things together: BTS and Ghibli studios.
I thought Taehyung and Totoro are so similar they could almost be friends or family! So I’ve decided to draw many sketchs of them together next to each other and using the warm colors of blue, white grey

soxue_art The first ghibli movie I’ve got into was ponyo, I was way too young to understand the story behind it but It did leave a big impression for it’s animations. I chose Jimin (cause I’m biased shsh) & Yoongi as the main character. I usually start out with rough sketches, playing around with composition and colors till I get what I vision & it’s my first time drawing a big piece so it took my time making every detail perfect, especially their hair and background.
