The leather used in all the Studioart collections becomes the undisputed protagonist of the world of interior design and architecture, offering unique solutions for wall coverings, stitched to measure using exquisite materials and exclusive craftsmanship to satisfy the most diverse requirements in terms of living space and style. With Leatherwall, Studioart proposes a new concept in wall coverings for residential, commercial and public spaces as well as for the interiors of boats, aircraft and railway carriages. The uniqueness of each Leatherwall collection is expressed in the versatility of the colours, patterns, geometric designs and sizes, in the natural shades of individual tesserae, as well as in the seductive blend of textures, light and shadow, in sophisticated top-stitching and in the sculptural allure created by the combination of flat and padded surfaces. This latter feature, a new development in the collection, is the creative result of ongoing research into luxury and design. The padded effect lends the wall a certain softness, creating play on volumes and ever-changing reflections while at the same time damping noise thanks to its unique sound-absorbent properties. Eco-friendly processes and original juxtapositions of natural materials are just some of the outstanding features of Studio Art. Leatherwall si esprime in diversi formati e finiture, con elementi piani e bombati, fino allâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;utilizzo di una cucitura sui bordi esterni di ogni singolo pezzo. Lâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ampia gamma delle proposte dai piccoli ai grandi formati quadrati e rettangolari permette infinite soluzioni e accostamenti adatti ad esprimere diversi stili e personalitĂ degli spazi. Le forme, nelle declinazioni piano, bombato, cucito e bombato cucito, possono essere utilizzate in un accostamento monoformato o nelle proposte dei patterns Sudioart.

Leatherwall finds its creative expression in a range of different sizes and finishes, with both flat and padded elements, plus the option of top-stitching around the outer edges of each piece. The wide range of proposals, from small to large square and rectangular pieces, enables endless solutions and combinations which eloquently express the different styles and moods of rooms. The finishes in flat, padded, stitched and padded stitched versions, can be used in one-size combinations or with a range of sizes to create Studioart patterns.

Studioart offre quindi una serie di suggerimenti di utilizzo e accostamenti tra piano e bombato con degli schemi di posa che facilitano lâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;installazione anche di complessi giochi geometrici e di volume.

Studioart propone una serie di collezioni in cui vengono mescolate e abbinate diverse linee di pelli, forme e finiture a comporre delle superfici suggestive. Le collezioni proposte esplorano il contrasto tra lâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;opaco e il lucido, lâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;accostamento di superfici differentemente lavorate e ricche di textures, abbinamenti di materiali diversi con finiture metalliche e iridescenti, proposte in cui il colore diventa elemento forte e caratterizzante.

Studioart proposes a series of collections which mix and match different lines of leathers, shapes and finishes to create striking surfaces. The proposed collections explore the contrast between matt and shiny, the juxtaposition of differently crafted surfaces with lavish textures, combinations of different materials with metallic and iridescent finishes and proposals in which colour is a bold, defining element.

OPACO LUCIDO

Nella collezione Opaco Lucido vengono accostate tessere delle linee City, Natural o Pearl a superficie lucida, con tessere della collezione Watersuede a superficie opaca. L’accostamento delle tessere viene creato su una base monocromatica con una disposizione casuale. Il contrasto lucido/opaco della composizione finale risulta particolarmente raffinato e suggestivo. In the Opaco Lucido collection, tiles from the City, Natural or Pearl lines with shiny surfaces are juxtaposed with others from the Watersuede collection, featuring a matt surface. The tesserae are juxtaposed in a single-colour base using a random arrangement. The shiny/matt contrast of the resulting composition is particularly sophisticated and striking.

KLIMT

La collezione Klimt, ricca e particolarmente elaborata, è ricavata da una selezione di 24 tipologie di pelli di svariate finiture, disegni e tessiture. La superficie che ne risulta ha una vivacità intensa di tonalità e luce, basata su un gioco di variazioni tra i colori del rosso, del blu, dell’arancio, del verde, dell’oro, dell’argento e del contrasto chiaroscuro dell’optical. Manufatto composito, quasi Art Nouveau nell’esecuzione e nella realizzazione, Klimt rappresenta la collezione più complessa in termini di ricerca e produzione dove la sfida tecnologica porta la pelle nel mondo degli antichi mosaici.

The Klimt collection, which is particularly elaborate and lavish, is based on a selection of 24 types of leather with various finishes, patterns and textures. The resulting surface has great vibrancy thanks to the rich hues and light, achieved through interesting variation between shades of red, blue, orange, green, gold, silver and the chiaroscuro contrast in the optical version. A composite creation reminiscent of Art Nouveau in its execution and production, Klimt is the most complex collection in terms of research and production, with cutting-edge technology taking leather into the world of ancient mosaics.

DECORO

La collezione Decoro è opulenza e ricchezza nella sua gamma di tessere diverse tra di loro dove la parte centrale delle pelli di vitello è conciata al cromo e tinta a pura anilina. Le tessere sono poi lavorate con lamine metalliche, spruzzature ed effetti a rilievo realizzati in techinche artigianali. Decoro è declinata nelle versioni oro e argento ed è disponibile in composizione casuale o a righe alternate. Decoro non garantisce resistenza all’acqua e alla luce solare. Si consiglia di evitare l’esposizione diretta alla luce solare e a fonti di calore.

The Decoro collection is opulent and lavish with its range of different tesserae, for which only the central part of the calfskin is chrome tanned and then pure aniline-dyed. The tesserae are then enhanced with metallic laminas, spraying and raised effects achieved through artisan techniques. Decoro is produced in gold and silver versions and is available in random or alternating stripe compositions. Decoro does not guarantee resistance to water or sunlight. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and heat sources.

La collezione Metal nasce dall’incontro di tre diverse linee di pelle: Pearl, Watersuede e Pezzara. Pearl presenta la pelle nel suo aspetto più nobile e raffinato, impreziosito dalle polveri metalliche, che donano alle tessere l’effetto di cangiante luminosità. Watersuede si caratterizza per l’effetto velour, la piacevole sensazione al tatto della pelle scamosciata. Pezzara introduce infine l’artigianalità tipica delle stringhe che si intrecciano in trama ed ordito. La presenza di tessere con diversi trattamenti e di dimensioni differenti crea un gioco di contrappunto estremamente suggestivo in cui note apparentemente distanti creano un insieme ricco e complesso.

The Metal collection is the result of the combination of three different leather lines: Pearl, Watersuede and Pezzara. Pearl presents the noblest, most refined leather, enhanced with metal powders which endow the surface with a brilliant iridescence. Watersuede is characterised by a velour effect, the pleasing touch of suede leather. Pezzara, lastly, introduces the typical artisan technique of weaving leather laces through warp and weft. The use of different sized tesserae with various treatments creates extremely striking play on contrast in which seemingly discordant elements come together to create a rich, complex whole.

IRIDE

La collezione Iride è stata creata a partire dalle linee Watersuede e Natural, a cui viene aggiunto un particolare e suggestivo effetto specchio con tessere che hanno la caratteristica di cambiare aspetto e colore a seconda della luce presente. L’effetto quasi iridescente è di forte impatto. La pelle riflette e muta, cambia aspetto e ripete i colori dell’ambiente circostante, amplificando atmosfere e sensazioni. La pelle si avventura in un gioco camaleontico, non per nascondersi ma anzi per caratterizzare gli spazi con una personalità forte ed estremamente ricercata.

The Iride collection was created drawing on the Watersuede and Natural lines, with the addition of a special and quite striking mirror effect using tesserae which change appearance and colour depending on the light. The almost iridescent effect is quite dramatic. The leather reflects light and changes, looking different as it reflects the colours of the surrounding room, intensifying moods and atmospheres. The leather plays a dynamic, chameleon-like game, the aim being not to disguise, but to define spaces with a bold, extremely sophisticated personality.

Nella collezione Luxury convivono i materiali piu ricercati, le pelli piu pregiate e le finiture piu preziose. Le pelli vengono accostate con tessere sia piane che bombate. Le superfici morbide si alternano a quelle piane e rigide impreziosite da decori e finiture in oro e lamine metalliche in un abbinamento caldo e sensuale.

The Luxury collection brings together the most sophisticated materials, the finest leathers and the most precious finishes. Leathers are juxtaposed with both flat and padded tesserae. Rounded surfaces alternate with other flat, rigid ones enhanced by decorations and finishes in gold and metal laminas, in a warm, sensual medley.

Le proposte di Leatherwall sono declinate a partire da una serie di collezioni di pelle con differenti caratteristiche tecniche e qualitĂ . Dalla piu resistente collezione City adatta a spazi di uso pubblico e per il contract, a pelli piu pregiate a pieno fiore e pura anilina, a effetto scamosciato, a pelli idroleorepellenti, ad effetti perlati, cangianti, iridescenti e a finiture e texture esclusive e originali.

Leatherwall proposals are developed based on a series of leather collections with different technical characteristics and qualities. From the hardest-wearing collection, City, ideal for public areas and the contract industry, to the finest full-grain and pure aniline, not to mention suede effects, water-repellent leathers, pearly iridescent leathers and exclusive, original finishes and textures.

CITY

La collezione City si distingue per le sue elevate qualità tecniche, che la rendono ideale per ogni tipologia d’arredo. Disponibile in un’ampia gamma di colori, City è la collezione di punta per quanto riguarda durata, elevate resistenze chimiche e fisiche e alto grado di sicurezza. Viene realizzata con pelli bovine pieno fiore selezionate, conciate al cromo, tinte con coloranti all’anilina e rifinite con prodotti in soluzione acquosa. City garantisce ottima solidità alla luce e all’usura, grazie a speciali trattamenti con sostanze protettive. Su richiesta, si possono applicare al prodotto additivi ignifuganti che ne aumentano la resistenza al fuoco. Per le sue prerogative tecniche ed estetiche, City è la collezione di riferimento per il contract e l’arredamento di ambienti particolarmente esigenti, quali locali pubblici, uffici o ambienti bagno. City può essere utilizzata anche per rivestire pavimenti di camere da letto e barche, con l’avvertenza di calpestarla unicamente a piedi scalzi. The City collection presents outstanding technical qualities which make it the ideal choice for all kinds of interiors. Available in a wide range of colours, City is the leading collection in terms of duration, chemical and physical resistance and excellent safety levels. It is made from carefully selected full-grain cowhides which have been chrome-tanned, aniline-dyed and finished with water-soluble products. City guarantees excellent resistance to light and wear, thanks to special treatments with protective substances. On request, the product can be treated with special flame-retardant additives to increase its resistance to fire. Its technical and aesthetic credentials make City the reference collection for the contract industry and the furnishing of highmaintenance areas such as public spaces, offices and bathrooms. City can also be used as a floor covering in bedrooms and boats, as long as it is walked on barefoot only. Despite its good resistance to light, direct exposure to sunlight should nonetheless be avoided and it should not be installed near heat sources.

Natural is the finest and noblest of the collections. Meticulously crafted to offer a pleasing tactile and visual experience, thanks also to the “pull-up” effect which enhances the leather's natural chiaroscuro shading effect. After tanning and dyeing, the fullgrain cowhides are treated with waxes and oils to give them an “aged” look. La collezione Watersuede nasce dalla selezione della parte centrale delle pelli di vitello, conciate al cromo e tinte alla pura anilina. La pelle viene quindi ingrassata con speciali oli, per ricavare un effetto velour tipico della pelle scamosciata. Watersuede si distingue per un design elegante e molto caldo, valorizzato dalle sfumature ombreggiate sulla superficie della pelle, dovute alle sua naturale e marcata scrivenza. Le tonalità di colore che si possono scegliere sono ampie, e le variazioni di tinta da lotto a lotto vanno considerate tipiche di questo prodotto. Il trattamento di idro-oleorepellenza garantisce resistenza ai liquidi e allo sporco in generale. Per la tipologia della pelle utilizzata, la collezione Watersuede non offre particolare resistenza alla luce. The Watersuede collection uses only the selected central part of the calfskin, which is chrome-tanned and pure aniline-dyed. The leather is then finished with special oils to endow it with the velour effect typical of suede leather. Watersuede is characterised by elegant and very warm design, which is enhanced by shading on the surface of the leather given by its distinctive natural nap. There is a wide range of colours to choose from and slight variations in colour from one batch to another are a typical characteristic of this product. A water-and oil-repellent treatment guarantees resistance to liquids and dirt in general. RODEO

La collezione Rodeo deriva da una accurata selezione di manti di vitelli e bovini. Il suo elemento decorativo più tipico è la lunghezza del pelo, che può variare in base alla stagione. Le basi bianco nera maculata e bianco marrone maculata possono essere tinte per ottenere singolari effetti stilistici. Grazie a speciali trattamenti, si ottengono superfici alternate di pelo e pelle pieno fiore che possono essere tono su tono o in contrasto di colore. The Rodeo collection is the result of careful selection of calf and cow skins. Its most typical decorative element is the length of the hair, a feature that depends on the period of production. The black and white or brown and white bases can be dyed to obtain unusual style effects. Special treatments are used to obtain alternating areas of hair and full-grain leather, either tone-on-tone or contrasting in colour. The subsequent application of laminas on the grain of the leather produces a highly sophisticated metallic effect. In other cases, artisan processes are employed to produce variegated designs with contrasting hues on the hair, with the possibility of customisation. The Rodeo collection is not particularly resistant to light. Direct exposure to sunlight and installation near heat sources should be avoided.

PEZZARA

La linea Pezzara ha origine da un’antica arte mediterranea. Le tessere e le piastrelle di Pezzara vengono rivestite con una tessitura di stringhe di pelle intrecciate a fili di cotone dell’ordito con tecniche artigianali-manuali. Nella versione Pezzara perlata le stringhe di pelle vengono trattate con polveri metalliche, cere e oli, che conferiscono alle pelli particolari effetti luminescenti o perlati. Il risultato è una sintesi di grande impatto visivo e tattile, in cui la forte artigianalità della trama e dell’ordito si tinge di luce per raggiungere i vertici dell’eleganza e della raffinatezza.

The Pezzara line derives from an age-old Mediterranean craft tradition. Pezzara tesserae and tiles are covered with leather laces woven into cotton warp threads using handicraft techniques. In the pearly version of Pezzara the leather laces are treated with metal powders, waxes and oils which endow them with distinctive luminescent or pearly effects. The result is a dramatically attractive and tactile collection in which exquisitely hand-woven warp and weft threads embrace light, embodying the very essence of elegance and refinement.

La linea Mushroom si ispira alle forme naturali ma al contempo contiene elevata innovazione tecnologica. Prodotta con macchinari ad alta precisione la pelle è tagliata in sottilissime lamelle che producono effetti di tridimensionalità e in continuo mutamento. La pelle cambia in continuazione il suo aspetto quando viene toccata. L’effetto di grande impatto è accentuato dalla bombatura del materiale che ne evidezia la singolarità di ogni tessera. La posa in versi contrapposti ne accentua gli effetti tridimensionali. I colori della linea Mushroom ripropongono le suggestioni della terra con leggeri effetti perlati.

The Mushroom line is inspired by natural shapes but it is also highly innovative in terms of technological content. Produced using precision machinery, the leather is cut into ultra-fine films which produce an ever-changing three-dimensional effect. Whenever touched, the leather changes appearance. This striking effect is accentuated by the padded design of the material which highlights the uniqueness of every single tessera. Tesserae can be installed in opposite directions to further accentuate the three-dimensional effect. The colour of the Mushroom line draws on earthy colours, enhanced with subtle pearly effects.

The Geo collection plays with style effects that conjure up the earth and nature, reworked with highly original leather processing techniques. LEATHER TESSERAE AND TILES

CERTIFICATES OF GUARANTEE, RESISTANCE AND SAFETY

Each single tesserae and tile is made up of a film of leather applied to a rigid, stable backing. The leathers used are chrome tanned full-grain, suede leather or pure aniline with natural wax finishes. The leather is 0.7/0.9 mm thick. When combined, backing and leather have a total thickness of 4 mm. Leatherwall is ideal for decorative wall coverings in homes (bedrooms, lounges, studies), commercial interiors (hotels, restaurants, banks, shops and professional studios), artistic and exhibition environments (theatres, museums, libraries, music halls) and for furnishing boats, aeroplanes and railway carriages.

The leather used is selected and produced with a guarantee of chemical, dye, physical and fire resistance with very low emissions of volatile organic substances. As regards backing and adhesives, technical-performance specifications are available upon on request for strength, resistance to deformation and breaking and reaction to fire. The water- and oil-repellent treatments are carried out during the tanning process using 3M Scotchgard Protector, and undergo testing to verify repellence of water and dirt in general. When requested, additional specific product tests can be carried out at an additional cost.

Le tessere e le piastrelle sono fornite in formato quadrato o rettangolare.

Tesserae and tiles can be dry-glued to any level, flat or curved surface: plaster, plasterboard, wood, metal, concrete or glass, using common building adhesives. The 1” x 1” and 2” x 2” tesserae come pre-assembled on a biadhesive film and are then applied to the wall. The tiles are glued directly to the surface using a common building adhesive. Assembly and installation techniques, especially for particularly complex work and renovations, call for skilled personnel and particular care is required when cleaning in order to avoid dirtying the leather with adhesive. The absence of joints enhances the decorative value and the perfection of the finished pattern.

Ogni singola tessera e piastrella si compone di una pellicola di pelle applicata su un substrato sostanzialmente rigido e stabile. Le pelli utilizzate nella manifattura sono fiore di pelle bovina conciata al cromo, pelle scamosciata o pura anilina rifinita con cere naturali. Lo spessore della pelle è di 0,7/0,9 mm. Lo spessore totale di substrato e pelle è di 4 mm. Leatherwall è ideale per rivestimenti decorativi di ambienti residenziali (camere da letto, salotti, studi), commerciali (alberghi, ristoranti, banche, negozi e studi professionali), ambienti artistici ed espositivi (teatri, musei, biblioteche, sale musicali), arredamenti nautici, di aeromobili e di carrozze ferroviarie.

La pelle utilizzata viene selezionata e prodotta con garanzia di resistenza per le prove chimiche, fisiche, tintorie e di resistenza al fuoco con bassissima emissione di sostanze organiche volatili. Per il substrato e le colle sono disponibili, a richiesta, le schede tecnico-prestazionali di resistenza fisica, deformazione, rottura e di reazione al fuoco. I trattamenti di idro-oleorepellenza sono eseguiti nella fase di concia con Scotchgard Protector di 3M, e sottoposti a test di repellenza ai liquidi e allo sporco in generale. Se richiesti, ulteriori e specifici test prodotto vengono effettuati con una maggiorazione di prezzo.

MODALITÀ DI POSA Tessere e piastrelle possono essere incollate a secco su qualsiasi superficie rasata, piana o curva: intonaco, gesso, cartongesso, legno, metallo, calcestruzzo e vetro. Nell’operazione si impiegano i comuni collanti utilizzati in edilizia. Le tessere 2,5 x 2,5 cm e 5 x 5 cm vengono premontate su una pellicola biadesiva e quindi applicate a muro. Le piastrelle sono incollate direttamente a muro con una comune colla da montaggio. Il montaggio e la tecnica di posa,per realizzazioni e ristrutturazioni particolarmente complesse, richiedono personale specializzato e necessitano di particolare attenzione nella pulizia al fine di non sporcare la pelle con i collanti. L’assenza di fughe esalta il valore decorativo e la perfezione del disegno finale.

Le dimensioni base sono: 2,5 x 2,5 cm, 5 x 5 cm (forniti in moduli già assemblati di 30x30 cm), 10 x 10 cm, 15 x 15 cm, 20 x 20 cm, 30 x 30 cm, 40 x 40 cm, 30 x 60 cm, 50 x 50 cm, 30 x 90 cm, 40 x 40 cm, 60 x 60 cm. Si usano in combinazione due kit: il primo, composto dal detergente e dallo stick, serve per la rimozione di polvere e macchie (detergente) e per togliere segni di biro, rossetto e sporco ostinato (stick); il secondo, composto dalla crema protettiva, arricchisce la superficie della pelle di sostanze nutritive oltre a formare un film protettivo.

Two kits are used in conjunction: the first, comprising a detergent and a stick, is used to clean dust and marks (detergent) and to remove any ink or lipstick stains and stubborn dirt in general (stick); the second, comprising a protective cream, enriches the surface of the leather with nourishing substances and forms a protective film.
