WATER SAFETY TIPS ACTIVE SUPERVISION, BARRIERS & SIGHTLINES

Always actively supervise children when they’re both in and around the water; ensure that pools are secured with appropriate barriers; and require children to swim within designated areas that are within sight of guardians and certified lifeguards.

TEACH THEM EARLY

Teach children to get comfortable in the water and swim at an early age and educate them early about water safety.

Never let children swim alone; always designate swimming buddies before visiting the beach or pool.

DON’T BE PUSHY

Instruct children to never run, push or jump on others in and around the pool.

WEAR SUNSCREEN

Protect your skin from sun burn and sunstroke by wearing hats and sunglasses and applying sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher and limiting direct exposure for prolonged periods of time.

WHO’S YOUR BUDDY?

Children should always wear a PFD (personal flotation device) while on a boat.

SUIT UP

Make sure children always wear life jackets and use proper water safety and flotation devices.

GET CERTIFIED

Become certified in infant and child First Aid and CPR.

STAY HYDRATED Ensure that kids drink plenty of fluids to stay properly hydrated, especially on hot days.

CHOOSE YOUR Y ADVENTURE! PERSONALIZE YOUR CAMPER’S DAY OF PLAY... Each week offers a fun and creative theme that will be woven in activities throughout the week. Activities include arts and crafts, experiential projects, �eld trips, games, sports, songs, skits, weekly highlight activities and recreational swimming.

CAMP UPGRADES Choose from a variety of specialty activities and options catered to your child’s growing interest and skills. With included and fee-based options, you have the ability to personalize your camps. The included options vary each week and include a variety of fun afternoon clubs to explore new skills or enjoy a favorite activity!

SPLASH CAMP UPGRADE:

Campers build con�dence in the water with a week of swim lessons and extra recreational swim options each day!

SPORTS CAMP UPGRADE:

Develop skills in basketball, volleyball, or athletic conditioning in a daily clinic with our sports staff. Options vary each week.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Each day, your child should bring sunscreen, water, and a full lunch with a drink to camp. Be sure to label all items. Every camp includes traditional activities such as weekly themes games�� eld trips, environmental educations, crafts, songs, skits, and water activities including swimming. Your child should wear a camp t-shirt on all �eld trips. You can purchase shirts at our Welcome Center desk. We provide an afternoon snack. Snack calendars will be posted weekly.

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT INFORMATION

All campers must be registered for each week of camp with full payment by the time they are dropped off at the start of each week. Complete registration packet must be on-site t�� nalize registration.

SPORTS BEST SUMMER EVER ITTY BITTY

AGES: 3-5 Your kids will love our instructional sports programs that introduce them to the fundamentals of sports of all sorts! The YMCAs four core values—respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring—are infused into every class so that kids focus on the value of sportsmanship. This six week program will focus on the basic fundamentals of three sports: basketball, soccer, and t-ball. Parental involvement is required. Member Fee: FREE with Membership

RECREATIONAL BASKETBALL

GRADE: PRE K-6 In this league coaches will work on basic ball handling, passing, shooting and defensive skills while introducing defensive and offensive schemes. Member Fee: $60

GRADES: 1-6 A great introduction to volleyball that will teach basic fundamentals of the sport to help prepare them for our leagues. Teams will be formed and will participate in two games in our recreational volleyball league as well. |

Our Youth Cheerleading program offers a sound foundation for cheer while allowing participants the opportunity to showcase their skills. Join our experienced cheerleading instructor in learning the fundamentals of cheerleading and stunting. All classes incorporate fun along with discipline and learning to work in a team environment. Enjoy a night out knowing that your child is having fun at the YMCA. Your children will participate in an exciting evening filled with fun, friends, crafts, games, and pizza! Our experienced and caring Child Care staff provides entertainment for your child in a safe and well-supervised environment.

AMAZING KIDS CLUB

While you enjoy the Y, your children (ages 3 months to 7) can enjoy Amazing Kids Club where friendly well-trained staff interact with your children. Their time is filled with stimulating games and activities specifically chosen to spark imagination.

THE CLUB

The Club is included in your membership and is specifically designed for kids between the ages 8 and 11. This complementary child watch program has games, activities and computers to keep them busy for up to 2 hours while you work out!

Adventure Guides was developed by the Y to help strengthen family relationships. The Adventure Guides Experience enables parents and kids to have fun while sharing new adventures.

FAMILY EVENTS SUPER SATURDAYS

We’re making Saturdays super with fun family events featuring interactive activities, new fitness classes, free child care and much more. We’re hosting these events at your branch to celebrate you and thank you for being a part of the Y family. We want you to feel appreciated and valued and these events are just one of the many ways that we are adding benefits to your membership. These events are free for our members and we encourage you to come and enjoy Saturdays with us, as you spend quality time with your family and get healthy together! FAMILY BEST SUMMER EVER PROGRAMS AMAZING KIDS CLUB

AGES: 3months -11 Amazing Kids is the Y’s free drop-off child care program you can use while you work out. Your child will enjoy safe, fun, structured, age-appropriate activities including story time, arts and crafts, and outdoor playtime. Sign your child in for up to 2 hours per day! Parents must remain in the building while your child is in the Amazing Kids area. Member Fee: FREE

THE CLUB

AGES: 5-11 The Club is a free program where the Y provides a safe environment and takes care of your children while you work out in the facility. We have designed the Club to keep your children engaged with age-appropriate, educational, and fun activities. Member Fee: FREE

PARENT’S NIGHT OUT

AGES: Potty Trained-12 Join us for Parent’s Night Out EVERY 3RD FRIDAY OF THE MONTH! Our childcare specialists will watch your kids while you have a night out. Pizza and activities are provided. KARATE

AGES: 6-99 Offered in beginning & intermediate, our karate class builds on the basics of the of ________. Our master instructor leads the class in learning forms & techniques to build their confidence & skill level. Wed/Fri 6-7pm Beg, W/F 7-8pm Int. Sa. 1:30-2:30pm combo Member Fee: $40

KOREAN SWORDS HAIDONG GUMDO AGES: 6-12 Sword training is a safe sport utilizing foam swords for youth during workout , sparring, and drills. Wooden swords are only permitted once a youth has demonstrated responsibility. Adults use dull wooden swords. Wed 8-8:55pm & Saturday 2:30-3:30pm Member Fee: $40

ITTY BITTY BALLET

AGES: 3-6 Do you have a budding ballerina on your hands? This is the class for them! They will learn basic ballet skills and concepts while building their confidence and skill level. 3 classes available– Mon 9:15-10am (3-5 yr), Tues 5:30-6:15pm (34yr), Wed 5:30-6:15pm (5-6yr). Member Fee: $20

INTRODUCTION TO DANCE

AGES: 6-12 Join our amazing dance instructor as she showcases 4 different styles of dance to see which one your little dancer likes best. 1 week each session will be spent on each of these styles: jazz, ballet, tap & hip Hop. Offered as a one month session, your dancer will be able to expand into their favorite style following this trial month. Member Fee: $20

OVERNIGHT CAMP BEST SUMMER EVER

CAMP SKY-Y Our activities, from rock climbing to dance to archery, emphasize human values such as self-esteem, caring and responsibility. These traits, by all known standards of humanity, are values your children can carry with them always. They will be guideposts by which they will be measured as they pass through life. We keep all of this in mind while making sure your children have the time of their life.

DISCOVER CAMP  •  AGES 7-8

A great introduction to “sleep-away” camp. Our counselors help campers make new friends while they discover the fun activities at camp. Supervised by nurturing leaders, Discover Campers participate in activities as a cabin group and focus on the basics of camp.

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT INFORMATION

All campers must be registered for each week of camp with full payment by the time they are dropped off at the start of each week. The registration packet includes: YMCA registration form and Behavior Guidelines form. CAMP COSTS COST PER SESSION

EXPLORER CAMP  •  AGES 9-12

As a cabin, Explorers will hike the forest, climb the tower, take a shot at the archery range, build some crafts and also have the opportunity to sign up for horseback rides, canoe trips, high ropes games and paintball trials. Explorer camp is the perfect mix of a traditionally scheduled camp, with the opportunity to Explore new adventures.

CHALLENGER TRAILS  •  AGES 13-16

Challenger Trails allow campers to sign-up for a much more in-depth experience with the programs they have grown to love over their years at Sky-Y. Campers will be able to choose 1 activity to specialize in during their week of camp.
