As an aspiring educator with a master's degree in TESOL you’ll help bridge the language gap and unlock new worlds of opportunity for those you teach. And at Valpo, our master's degree in TESOL program combines both practice and theory as you develop effective teaching practices, proficiency assessment methods, and gain valuable experience through hands-on classroom teaching. You’ll also be given the flexibility to pursue your education at whatever pace and format fits you best. Offering full-time or part-time, and on campus or online options, our master's degree in TESOL program is accredited by the Indiana Department of Education and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation ensuring you’ll be set up for success during your time at Valpo and in your future career.

Students seeking Indiana state English learner (EL) licensure must complete designated versions of TESOL courses for P-12 educators in each of the categories listed above. Enrollment in the P-12 focused versions of the TESOL courses is restricted to education students and students with a P-12 teaching license. ELECTIVES 15 CR. Following your core courses, you can specialize your master's degree in TESOL with electives in: ENGL 531 Advanced Composition 3 Cr. ENGL 602 Computer Assisted Language Learning 3 Cr. ENGL 541 History of the English language 3 Cr. ENGL 512 New Literacies, Technologies, and Cultures of Writing 3 Cr. ENGL 580 Topics in Writing 3 Cr.
