edTPA is a performance-based, subject-specific assessment and support system used by teacher preparation programs throughout the United States to emphasize, measure, and support the skills and knowledge that all teachers need from day one in the classroom. Here at Valpo, students are fully prepared for their edTPA through embedded coursework and the guided and supported completion of their capstone projects presented at their education symposium.

Students participate in supported and meaningful clinical placements that begin in your first education course, continue through extensive practicum experiences, and culminate in a 16-week student teaching experience. Our students leave Valpo prepared to teach a wide variety of school settings.
