sehar Interview With puri If there was one thing you would want us to know about you, what would it be? I love experimenting! with anything and everything. And it’s completely reflected in my work.I love Travel Photography but I’ve meddled with Fashion, Food, Interior, Portraits, Events, Wedding, Abstract, Street Photography etc. Basically, you name it. What drives me about that is just the sheer thrill of taking something ordinary and ensuring that you have to take a second look at it. Are you formally taught or self taught? And what has been the best source of information along this journey (workshop, online forums, classroom, mentor, etc)? Self taught. I like the idea of learning and tweaking around so that’s how I picked the basics up and moved on to the finer aspects through books, online forums and whatever else I could get my hands on! But I’ve also had the most supportive mentor who goes by the name of Srila Mookherji. So it’s no surprise that she picked out my first camera. How was the transition from hobbyist to paid professional and what kind of assignments have you done? Much awaited! And speaking of my mentor, she was the first to kick off my

professional journey! The first event I covered was her exhibition. And from then on, it’s been about Food Photography at Zaranj, Euphoria at CCFC, Interiors for Shilpa Bansal, Fashion Shoots, Wedding shoots, etc. What type of session do you look forward to the most (maternity, newborn, child, family, senior, wedding, engagement, etc) and why? The Wanderlust kind or in other words, Travel. Just the idea that you can capture all aspects of your journey - from the people you meet, to the places you see and everything else in between. Nothing beats that.

ARPITA PATEL

I don’t think you need an introduction but as a part of the formality, can you please tell me a little about yourself. I am born and brought up in Hyderabad. I have done my schooling from Sri Aurobindo International School & Intermediate from Little Flower Jr College. At present I am pursuing Graduation from Aurora Degree College. Since childhood I like doing painting, craft work, making something creative. I try to learn something new every day. I never like sitting ideal. I like exploring things, going to new places get to know more about the place, people, culture, language, living etc.. And yes now photography is added to my blood so I love clicking. So when did you feel like having a passion for photography? Photography is a huge term for me to know. It all started with selfies (self-framed). I had no digital camera or phone way back. I used to take my dad’s phone and clicking selfies. He felt very annoying so I tired clicking objects with his phone. And then my brother got me a Sony digital camera. By then Facebook had very good photography pages few inspired me like Richa Kashelkar. Since then I

felt I could actually understand things and can express my feeling through my clicks. A strong bond was created between me and the moments or picture captures, images, photographers, still in moment or say Freeze. Can you share the first picture you took and tell us something about the picture.

This is my first click from Sony Digital camera. It’s actually a dustbin with holes pattern on it. I felt as if it’s a way to enter different world or to come out. It is up to us how we look in to it. There are many problems in life and yes even we have solutions it’s on us which path we take and solve the problem. It’s a original picture it’s not edited. No black and white option is used. You’re getting viral on internet day by day tell us something about your audience. I just like to experiment on lighting when I am free. Who was the person who most influenced you, and how? I say it’s my mum (mother). She inspires me the way she manages everything. Take care of family. House, health cooking and a happy go lucky smile on face all the time. Actually she really likes capturing memories since childhood she used to take us to studio and get those passport size pictures clicks. She used to say we should get every year a passport size photo done so that we get to know the changes we get every day to day. And I still remember when we used to go out for vacation she used to focus on background more than an object or the person standing. She always felt people who at the picture first will definitely focus on back ground first and then the person. And these things got me long way and all the credits goes to her.
