There’s Something for Everyone in Claremore!

Each holiday season Claremore’s Historic Downtown transforms into a winter wonderland with Victorian charm. It’s always a special time, with events packed full of fun, community spirit, and festive sparkle. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, there’s no shortage of exciting things. Wendy Woody, marketing manager at Visit Claremore, shared her excitement for the town’s lineup, which includes some beloved traditions and exciting new opportunities.

Santa Cash

Santa Cash kicked off November 1st and is the start of Claremore’s Holiday Shopping season. By shopping at local businesses, you’ll not only be supporting the community but also entering to win big cash prizes. “Remember to shop local to get that Santa Cash for a chance to win some money,” Wendy reminds everyone. The winners are announced at Will Rogers Downs on December 14 at 11a.m., and each year there are more participating stores, meaning more chances to win. To see which businesses are in the running, head over to the Claremore Chamber of Commerce website, www.claremore.org.

Claremore Lake Lights

For a more peaceful but equally magical experience, nothing beats the Claremore Lake Lights. “Each year it grows”, Woody says, “making it a must-see for locals and visitors alike.” The lights shine nightly from dusk until 10 p.m., starting in late November and staying up through January 6. Wendy calls it one of her personal favorites. “For me, Claremore Lake Lights is a highlight.

Christmas Parade

As December rolls in, the festivities continue! On December 7, the annual Christmas Parade will delight with creative floats and music, as the parade makes its way down Will Rogers Boulevard. This year’s theme is Wild West Christmas. “I enjoy the creativity and seeing the community come out to support our band kids,” Wendy shares.

12 Days of Christmas

From December 13, you can enjoy the 12 Days of Christmas with participating downtown merchants. Each day brings new discounts and specials, making it the perfect time to check off that holiday shopping list while supporting local small businesses.

Christmas at the Farm

Another cherished event is Christmas at the Farm at Shepherd’s Cross, where families can enjoy a living nativity, and other fun activities. Wreaths Across America on December 14, “Offers a beautiful way for the community to honor fallen service members by sponsoring a wreath and coming out to aid with a wreath-laying ceremony,” Wendy says.

“Claremore is the perfect small-town America. We have so much to offer, not just at Christmas time but throughout the year.” With so many holiday happenings, Claremore is the place to be this season!
