ith another school year coming to an end before you know it, parents across the city are looking for activities to register children in. From music, dance and theatre classes, to sports, recreation and summer camps, there are myriad options. The bottom line is – it’s got to be fun, stimulating, educational, and allow the kids to thrive among like-minded peers.

The Courier’s comprehensive SIGN ME UP guide has all you need to know! It’s

eight pages of ideas and info, plus a web directory at your fingertips. Now comes the challenging part – choosing! Here are some examples.

Soc it to me…

With the World Cup coming up in South Africa this June, all eyes are on the soccer pitch. Girls and boys will want to hone their game by participating in one of the great camps available in the Lower Mainland. Kids can ‘bend it like Beckham’ at the Royal Soccer Club. Hosting its 18th year of

Super Summer Soccer Camp, Royal Soccer is tops in grassroots soccer day camps in Canada. “Our program is designed to promote personal development, team building and of course, fun!” says program director, Jeff Bryer. “The camp program is uniquely designed to offer a soccer focus in the morning and a leisure swim with other organized camp activities in the afternoons. All boys and girls between the ages of five and 13 are encouraged to register for full day, morning or afternoon sessions.” As well, campers receive a personal soccer ball, tshirt, water bottle and much more. Camps

operate during all weeks in July and August. Check out the website at www.royalsoccer.com for more information or call 1-800-427-0536. Kids - play like a pro with Whitecaps FC camps. “Our camp philosophy ensures players of all levels are challenged, focused, and have fun in a professional club environment. I guarantee you will have a great experience,” says Sam Lenarduzzi, camp manager and former Whitecaps captain. Signature and Specialty Camps for boys and girls happen in July and August.
