An all-Canadian division presents a problem for the Canucks’ path to the playoffs

raden Holtby can attest to how difficult it is to get across the U.S.-Canada border right now. Of course, his difficulty was caused by improper paperwork for his family’s two pet tortoises rather than COVID-19 restrictions. Holtby was stuck waiting with his tortoises for two days while things got sorted out with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

As a Canadian citizen who has to relocate to Vancouver for his new job as the Canucks’ starting goaltender, Holtby likely had an easier time crossing the border than most, tortoise troubles notwithstanding. The border is closed to non-essential travel, so hockey players for other NHL teams won’t be entering the country any time soon. That’s an obvious problem for the upcoming NHL season, as 24 of the league’s 31 teams are located in the U.S. and Canada hasn’t been making exceptions for other sports. The Toronto Blue Jays were forced to relocate to Buffalo for the MLB season, while the NBA’s Toronto Raptors are planning to play in Tampa Bay. Instead of playing across the border

like the Blue Jays and Raptors, the Vancouver Canucks might never leave Canada next season. It’s been rumoured for some time that the NHL will form an all-Canadian division to get around the closed border and now it’s looking increasingly likely that the Canadian teams will play the entire 2020-21 season within Canada. While that’s a lot of fun for Canadian hockey fans, it might be bad news for the Canucks. Put simply, the Pacific Division was the worst division in the NHL last season. The top team in the Pacific, the Vegas Golden Knights, had the 8th-best record in the NHL. The second-place Edmonton Oilers had the 12th-best record. The rest of the Pacific, including the Canucks, was in the bottom-half of the league. Moving from the Pacific to an all-Canadian division won’t do the

Canucks any favours. They’ll be keeping two of the best teams from the Pacific — the Oilers and Calgary Flames — and adding more teams that will be battling for the playoffs. The Canucks will leave behind the San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings, and Anaheim Ducks, who were three of the worst teams in the NHL last season and did little to improve in the offseason. Engaged, active aging defines vibrant Tapestry communities Tapestry residents have found a healthy, connected and thriving environment to call home. A 2020 study from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) reports that risks among older adults for physical and mental health conditions — including heart disease, dementia and depression — are greatly heightened by prolonged social isolation. Choosing to join an active aging community is a healthy step towards preventing social isolation, which has been amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic. Bill moved into Tapestry in September 2020 after researching various options. He chose Tapestry as his new home because he appreciated its unique approach to wellness, the focus on extraordinary cuisine, excellent amenities and personalized service.

• All British Columbians are ordered to avoid non-essential travel outside their home health region until December 7; • Fitness facilities, such as spin-class businesses and hot yoga studios, will be ordered to close; • All community based social gatherings, or events, will be suspended provincewide for the next two weeks, including those with less than 50 people and are in controlled settings; and • Mandatory wearing of masks in all indoor public common areas and retail spaces not only for staff but also for customers. Travel for work is considered essential travel. The province's website said flouting orders could result in fines. There was no mention of the Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health regions being considered one agglomeration, so theoretically, crossing Boundary Road to enter Vancouver or Burnaby for a non-essential reason would be against the new order. The order on masks includes commercial buildings and in spaces such as elevators. She said that workers do not need to wear masks at their desks.

Some new orders include that:

She said her health order against group activities includes houses of worship. She said that individuals are still able to go to these places if they book in advance or otherwise ensure that they are not in a group. "The main focus of these measures is to reduce our social interaction [and limit the spread of COVID-19,]" she said. Henry said that inspections and audits of businesses, to ensure that they are complying with COVID-19 safety plans, will be stepped up. Businesses that are not in compliance will be ordered to close and potentially fined. "The bottom line is we will be extending the orders and directions that are placed in Vancouver Coastal [Health] and Fraser Health for an additional two weeks, and so that takes us through to midnight on December 7," Henry said. "In addition, we are going to be extending these orders to apply province-wide." By Glen Korstrom - BIV

the Flames might regret the final years of the lengthy contracts they gave to Jacob Markstrom and Chris Tanev, those additions will make them better next season and the Canucks worse. Against the five Pacific Division opponents they’ll be leaving behind, the Canucks were 8-4-1 last season. Against the four additional Canadian teams they’ll face in their new division, the Canucks were 2-6-0. Keep in mind, the Canucks were right on the playoff bubble when the 2019-20 season ground to a halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic; if they have a harder time picking up wins against their Canadian foes than they did against the hapless Californians in the Pacific Division, they might be on the outside looking in come playoff time.

In Canada, the lone team expected to be a basement dweller is the Ottawa Senators. Every other Canadian team will be in the hunt for a playoff spot. “The Canadian teams are quite strong,” said Montreal head coach Claude Julien in October. “It might be a very competitive division. We know that Ottawa is being rebuilt — that doesn't mean they aren't competitive — but the other teams all believe in their chance to make the playoffs.” The Winnipeg Jets have one of the best goaltenders in the NHL, the Montreal Canadiens made shrewd additions in the offseason, and the Toronto Maple Leafs are, on paper, the best team in Canada. The Oilers still have Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, while the Flames added the Canucks’ MVP and best defensive defenceman. While

ancouver city council has approved an ambitious $500-million plan that aims to substantially reduce the amount of carbon pollution generated in the city over the next decade. Ambitious in that the city wants to have two-thirds of all trips in Vancouver made on foot, bike or transit by 2030 and have 50 per cent of kilometres driven on city roads to be by zero emission vehicles. Carbon pollution from buildings is to be cut in half from 2007 levels and embodied emissions from new buildings — the term for production and transport of construction materials — is to be reduced by 40 per cent. Can it be done? Are the goals realistic? Matt Horne, the city’s climate change policy manager, thinks so. “We worked with [consultants] to model the actions we were considering, and we had an external advisory group to sort of help us test and guide the work,” Horne said Wednesday, the day after council approved the 371-page plan to tackle climate change. “Absolutely, it will be a challenge. But I think we’ve tried to be transparent in the report and to council that it’s not going to be easy to get there. We do think if we implement these actions as proposed in the plan, and work closely with the province on their CleanBC plan, we can get to those targets.” In the space of 30 minutes, Horne answered that question and several more about the plan and what it means for residents and business owners — and whether or when transport pricing will be implemented in the city. Hint: It’s not this year, next year or the year after. You can read the full Q&A with Horne at www.bit.ly/van2030 COV

Massive full beaver moon set to dazzle local skies

W

Vancouver stargazers will be able to see the nearly-full moon in all her celestial glory the night before (Nov. 29); the moon will be at its fullest at 1:32 a.m. on Nov. 30 locally. Stargazers should opt to travel as far away from city tyy lights as possible in order to avoid void light pollution that will obscure the clarity tyy of heavenly bodies. While this works best in more remote places, anyw ywhere w that has a higher elevation will also provide more ideal viewing conditions.

hile it is getting darker earlier in Metro Vancouver, this month’s full beaver moon promises to illuminate the night sky. The November full moon is thought to have derived its name because it occurred during the optimal time to trap the furry creatures. In fact, both colonial Americans, as well as the Algonquin tribes, referred to it as such. “Why the 'Beaver' Moon? This is the time of year when beavers begin to take shelter in their lodges, having laid up sufficient stores of food for the long winter ahead,” reports Farmer’s Almanac. "During the time of the fur trade in North America, it was also the season to trap beavers for their thick, winter-ready pelts." While it is commonly known as the Beaver Moon, it was also called the Full Frost Moon by other North American Tribes. According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, the moon will be fullest during the day on Monday, Nov. 30. However,

Horgan says British Columbians may still get $1,000 in the mail by Christmas the payments could come in early January. The $1,000 benefit applies to families with a combined household income of less than $125,000 per year. Payments to families making more than that will be granted on a sliding scale up to $170,000. Individuals making less than $62,000 a year were said to be eligible for a one-time $500 payment, with those earning up to $87,000 eligible for a payment along a sliding scale. Horgan said his cabinet will be sworn in Nov. 26 and reconvene

the legislature on Dec. 7 (Horgan also hinted that Port Coquitlam MLA Mike Farnworth would be returning in his role as Government House Leader). If that were to proceed successfully, the premier said he’s confident data collected through taxes and worker benefits would be sufficient to deposit the funds by direct deposit into the bank accounts of eligible British Columbians. .C. families could receive $1,000 cheques in the mail before Christmas, part of a one-time recovery benefit promised by the BC NDP during its election campaign. Last Wednesday, Horgan told reporters his government is working to get the payments to British Columbians before Christmas but that that plan could be delayed. “We’re pretty confident that… in a week or so we’ll be able to get those deposits done shortly thereafter,” said Horgan. He added: “We’re targeting Christmas, of course,” before saying

'Not-creepy' online event offers Vancouver singles the chance to find love

A

new online gathering hopes to combat some of the pandemic-blues, and possibly help some people find love. The Not-Creepy Gathering for People Who Want to Fall in Love offers the opportunity for singles to meet people in a structured format that is "all about connection." Event organizer Jenna Bean Veatch is a multi-disciplinary performing artist and teacher, but she tells V.I.A. in a phone interview that she was inspired to create the event five-and-a-half years ago while she was in grad school. "I booked a little venue... and 70 people showed up to that first event—and it felt so clear that I'd stumbled on something that people want," explains Veatch. While she was hesitant to move the events to an online format due to the pandemic, Veatch says in some ways it works better as a virtual event. "It can be scary to show up something like this. You feel really vulnerable. And many people are more at ease in their own homes, which makes it easier to show up in the first place. And once they're there, to show up fully and authentically," she explains. "And really showing up as our full, genuine, and authentic selves—because that's what it takes." The event isn't only meant to garner love connections. "I'm encouraging people to welcome friendships, too, If someone leaves the event with a new friend, that feels like a success to me." Although the event is online, Veatch says only residents of the Metro Vancouver area should partake in the city's event, which costs $9 to attend. If someone fancies a participant, she contacts them privately when the event ends so no one has to risk rejection. As for the event's name, Veatch says the "not-creepy" title strives to deter people from unwanted behaviour on and offline. It is meant to be a departure from popular dating apps like Tinder, which are notorious for "creepy" encounters and bold solicitations. "A company in Canada is getting a lot of attention online for its sign encouraging people to wear a mask," Corden told the audience, "because—well, you'll see it when you see it."

"I mean, talk about graphic design," Corden quipped. At one point in the clip, the Late Late show host had a friendly laugh at a producer's expense, following her delayed reaction to the image—something a few of the more innocentminded British Columbians might be able to relate to. Following the sign’s international TV appearance, Mark Collins, president and chief executive of BC Ferries, said Friday that the design is a stock image that the company paid for the right to use. “We didn’t see it at first,” he said. “But I do recognize that once you see it, you can’t unsee it.” Collins estimates there could be thousands of the signs posted throughout BC Ferries’ offices and terminals and on vessels. “There’s got to be 50 or 60 right in our head office. They are everywhere. It is a measure of how seriously we take masks.” While the image will remain for now, replacement of the signs is expected to begin in the next month or so. “It’s not going to be right away — people are having fun with it,” Collins said. “If it draws their attention to the seriousness of wearing a mask and the need to wear a mask, I’m OK with that.” Face masks are now mandatory in all indoor public spaces, as per an order issued by provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry late last week.

The audience erupted in laughter when the image appeared on-screen.

By Sarah Grochowski, Megan Lalonde, Carla Wilson and Bob Kronbauer

C Ferries has been strict in requiring that passengers on board wear face masks amid the COVID-19 pandemic – it even created new signage to promote the policy.

However, as quickly as the signs were erected, passengers began noticing the mask shown on them resembled something entirely different than intended.

In a tweet sent Friday, Nov. 13, founder of Vancouver-based publication urbanYVR Peter Meiszner pointed out “B.C. Ferries' new mask signage sure is eye-catching.” In his tweet, Meiszner included a picture he'd taken of the BC Ferries' mandatory mask symbol which, to some, resembles a portion of the male anatomy. From there, a whole host of social media users responded – many with laughter. Others were simply unable to see what all the commotion was about. A spokesperson from BC Ferries responded, “What imagination... if there was anyone unaware about our mandatory requirement to wear masks… they know now,” the company tweeted. The sign then caught the attention of James Corden, host of CBS’s The Late Late Show, who highlighted the subjectively provocative signage during Wednesday night's episode.

wrecking ball, and the restaurant confirms its doors will close for good on Nov. 28. The property at 1616 West Georgia, which includes the adjacent vacant lot, sold for a whopping $245 million in 2017. Plans for redevelopment by Carnival International Holdings in partnership with Aspac are for a pair of 38-storey highrise buildings featuring a four-storey podium linking the towers. The property will have an anticipated 455 strata residential units altogether. The building currently housing the White Spot dates back to 1979, according to BC Assessment. In 1982, Shato Holdings, run by the Toigo family, purchased the White Spot. When they sold the W Georgia and Cardero location three years ago it was the region's largest land transaction of 2017. Cathy Tostenson, Vice President Sales & Marketing for White Spot, provided V.I.A. with the following statement: "We are saddened to advise that our Georgia and Cardero White Spot will close permanently on Saturday, November 28th. The Cardero property was sold in 2017, with the understanding that it would eventually be redeveloped. While we had hoped to continue to operate the restaurant as long as possible,

the profound impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the area and the hospitality industry has led us to make the difficult decision to not renew the lease when it expires in December. "We shared the news with employees this past September, and have been working with team members to place them at other locations within the company, and best support those who will be retiring or moving on. "We have loved serving our Cardero guests — locals and visitors alike — and the decades of special Vancouver history this location has had the pleasure of being a part of. "We look forward to serving our valued guests elsewhere within our family of restaurants." By Lindsay William-Ross

reathe a sigh of relief—according to B.C.'s provincial health officer, Santa Claus is "probably" immune to COVID-19. But even still, the holiday season will look different this year. While the man in the red suit will likely avoid snacking on the milk and cookies at every house he drops by this Christmas Eve, he'll also be avoiding the in-person visits and photos that normally take place at Metro Vancouver malls each December—at least in their typical format. Many shopping centres are taking a hiatus from the festivities this year and letting Santa enjoy a well-deserved rest, while others have thought up new ways for kids to safely connect with Kris Kringle ahead of the big day, either virtually or in person. Keep in mind that things may change along with COVID-19 restrictions, but here's how Santa is currently planning on accepting visitors in the lead up to Dec. 25th. At Park Royal in West Vancouver, families are invited to join Santa in "the magical holiday atmosphere at The North Pole Picture Co." for a distanced chat, during which kids will be able to relay their Christmas wishlists. Though Santa will only be available for these visits, and will not be able to sit with for photos at Park Royal due to COVID-19 safety

Insider tips: what to know before heading to Whistler Blackcomb this season Winter has unofficially arrived with Whistler Blackcomb’s opening day—Thursday, November 26. However, winter is going to be different this year. With the new COVID-19 protocols in place, it’s more important than ever to plan your visit in advance so you can safely enjoy your next trip to Whistler. Note, as things may change quickly this season, please review the provincial health orders to see how it best applies to you prior to planning your trip, as well as check out www. whistlerblackcomb.com for the most up to date information regarding operational updates. With that in mind, here are the top four things to know to get a leg up on everyone else this winter season:

Tip #1: ‘Tis the year to get a pass—even if it’s just for a day This winter, Whistler Blackcomb is implementing an all-new reservation system designed to give you peace of mind knowing that you will have the space you need to feel safe and physically distanced. Here are the two most important things to know: (1) you will need a reservation for the days you want to ski or

ride, and (2) Whistler Blackcomb pass holders will get priority reservation access to reserve core season ski days. The bottom line is, you want to have a pass. The good news is that there are plenty of pass options to choose from, right down to a new Day Pass that’s available for 1-10 days. It is extremely flexible, includes a very attractive discount off regular lift tickets and, most importantly, gives you priority reservation access.

Tip #2: In the mood for a meal? There’s an app for that Guests who want to access the lodges or restaurants, including the three fantastic pubs in the valley, can now book a table through a great new app called Time to Dine. Reservations open daily at 7 a.m. PST for the lodges and can be made in advance for the pubs—The GLC, Dusty’s and Merlin’s—as well as the two finer dining establishments, Christine’s and Steeps. If you plan on bringing your own lunch rather than purchasing food on site, keep in mind that you will still need to reserve a spot at a table. We recommend sticking food in your pockets or your backpack before heading up the mountain. Water bottle filling stations will be available, but no cups. Guests should consider bringing a full water bottle or hydration pack for their time on the mountain.

Tip #3: This season, it’s all about safety As you would expect, Whistler Blackcomb has re-imagined all aspects of their operations with safety and distancing in mind. Face coverings are required to access the mountains, in all indoor spaces, in any line, in chairlifts and gondolas, and whenever you are unable to maintain physical distance. All transactions will be cashless, including at hotels, restaurants, Ski and Ride School, and all other points of sale.

Tip #4: Don’t miss this year’s huge Cyber Savings Whistler Blackcomb’s week-long Cyber Sale runs from November 24 to December 1 and features the deepest lodging discounts of the season—up to 50 per cent off. Without a doubt, the time to make all your winter bookings is during this sale. Best of all, you can do it worry-free as most lodging properties are featuring new flexible booking policies that allow you to easily adjust or cancel your reservation if your plans change. So book a getaway or two, save a bundle during the Cyber Sale, and have a great time this winter. The Cyber Sale ends on December 1 at midnight. Book online at www.whistlerblackcomb.com/cybersale or call 1-800-4034727 to save up to 50% on lodging and packages.

In addition to Lacate and Claggett, News 1130 parted ways with longtime afternoon news anchor Jim Bennie, weekend anchor/producer Toby Kerr, and web editor/reporter Mike Hall, according to the site Broadcast Dialogue. Listeners to Jack 96.9's morning show will soon have something new to tune into to start the day, as Rogers released the trio of Jeff Brown, Charis Hogg, and Paul Brown, who had been the AM team since August 2018. ogers Sports and Media is cancelling its Breakfast Television show in Vancouver, making adjustments to some local radio operations and laying off several employees. A statement from the Toronto-based company says "a small percentage" of its staff across the country will be let go. It says the Breakfast Television brand will remain and a new national version of the morning show will air on six Citytv stations starting in the new year. It also says there will be programming changes at some radio stations but "listeners will continue to hear local news and the stations will continue to support community events." In the Vancouver market, familiar names and voices at News 1130 and Jack FM have been let go. "Feeling grateful today for the experience of a lifetime. 20+ years in broadcasting working with the most amazing, kind, funny, generous people, all of whom became my family away from home. I love you guys and I’ll really miss you. It was a good run," shared News 1130 meteorologist Russ Lacate. "Tough day and yes I will miss the newsroom (thanks all for reaching out - I will get back to you soon). It’s been an amazing 17 years and thank you to my coworkers, media colleagues, newsmakers and listeners. Be kind to each other," tweeted news veteran Bruce Claggett of News 1130.

Delta seed company has raised tens of thousands of dollars in donations for Canadian food banks in the name of B.C.’s chief medical health officer Dr Bonnie Henry. On Nov. 16, West Coast Seeds announced that the company will be honouring Henry with the Dr. Bonnie Henry Pollinator Blend. The company also announced that 100 per cent of proceeds from the seed packet’s sales will be donated to Food Banks Canada. Two days later the packets had raised $23,000. “For us that's an unprecedented donation, it's something that we never thought we could ever do,” said Aaron Saks, West Coast Seeds’ director of finance. Saks added the 5,000 packets are nearly sold out already, prompting the company to order 10,000 more packets. Saks also said he believes the company’s donation could grow to up to $150,000 by the end of the planting season in May-June. The reason for the packet’s specific designation as a pollinator blend is a nod to Henry’s bee pendant. The seed packets’ design also plays off the same theme with the words 'Bee kind, bee calm and bee safe' printed around a honeycomb which frames a photo of Henry. Saks proposed the idea of the seed packets to Henry’s office in July which is when the idea

of donations going towards the Canada Food Bank. “During this time of crisis, many families face significant challenges and more than ever have had to rely on our food banks. Supporting the food bank is one important way for us to support families during this time of need,” said Henry in a release from West Coast Seeds. Aaron Saks hopes people will use gardening as a way to pass the time while staying at home. “Planting seeds and watching them grow is a joy for gardeners,” said Saks. “Many people look forward to spring gardening to relax and promote positive personal well-being in these stressful times.” Saks said he hopes to produce another seed packet thanking Henry for her leadership in 2021. ctor Richard Schiff, who appears on the Vancouver-filmed TV series "The Good Doctor," has been released from hospital after being treated this week for COVID-19. The 65-year-old American performer tweeted the update from his verified account Thursday, saying his wife and co-star on the medical drama, Sheila Kelly, was picking him up from the hospital. Schiff said earlier this week on Twitter that he was being treated with the antiviral medication remdesivir, oxygen and steroids, three weeks after testing positive along with Kelly while filming the latest season of the series. In an Instagram post last week, Kelly said they did not contract the virus on the set.

"The Good Doctor," which airs on ABC and CTV, was continuing filming in Vancouver as of last week. The latest season, which began airing earlier this month, sees the doctors dealing with the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic. Schiff, who plays the president of a hospital on the show, extended his gratitude Thursday to the real-life health-care workers on the front lines of the crisis. "I'm so grateful for all the love and support. It’s overwhelmingly moving and touches me deeply," he tweeted. "Thanks to fantastic nurses and docs. I’m aware of how lucky I am. So many still struggling."

“Invigorating, Refreshing, Delightful” was one of the taglines from this Dickson’s Coffee, Tea and Cocoa advertisement from 1935. Dickson’s Importing Co. Ltd. was an early Vancouver business started around 1895 by William Dickson, and originally located on East Hastings Street. By the 1930s, it had established itself as one of the main suppliers of coffee to hotels and restaurants in Vancouver and the surrounding area. Around 1932 it started roasting and retailing its Blossom line of coffee and tea. Four years later, it started packaging its Blossom Coffee in the vacuum tins pictured in this 1938 photograph. Mr. Estey, the company’s president, proclaimed in an article published in The Vancouver Sun on January 25, 1936, that this new packaging would allow people in Halifax to buy Blossom Coffee “just as fresh as if they’d got it an hour before from our Vancouver packing plant.” By Bronwyn Smyth - City of Vancouver Archives

DEVELOPMENT OF A PEST MANAGEMENT PLAN Application #: TMC-ROW IVMP-2020 Applicant: Trans Mountain Corporation (TMC), 7815 Shellmont Street, Burnaby BC V5A 4S9, Email: info@transmountain.com as well as the toll-free info line 1.866.514.6700 In accordance with the British Columbia’s Pest Management Act and Regulations, TMC is required to develop a Pest Management Plan (PMP) (for TMC the PMP is referred to as the Integrated Vegetation Management Plan (IVMP)). The IVMP manages problem vegetation, including control of noxious weeds and invasive plants within TMC’s rights-of-way and access roads to its pipeline systems. In British Columbia, TMC operates the Trans Mountain Pipeline transporting crude oil and refined products from Edmonton, AB to Burnaby, BC. The pipelines are located below ground and in the proximity to the following communities in British Columbia: Valemount, Albreda, Blue River, Avola, Vavenby, Clearwater, Darfield, McLure, Heffley Creek, Kamloops, Merritt, Kingsvale, Hope, Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Sumas, Langley, Surrey, Coquitlam and Burnaby. This IVMP has been prepared to replace the existing 5-year IVMP which expires in April 2021. The proposed duration of the IVMP is from May 1, 2021 to May 1, 2026. The vegetation management and weed control methods proposed for use include hand pulling, mowing, trimming, pruning, selective slashing, girdling, geotextile fabric, retaining existing low or self-sustaining ground cover, seeding, fertilization where setbacks permit and tree/shrub plantings. The use of pesticides (herbicides) are intended within the geographic area to which the PMP (IVMP) applies. TMC conducts all work, including pest (herbicide) management, in strict adherence with all applicable Acts and regulations. The active ingredient names and an example of trade names of the pesticides (herbicides) proposed for use under this plan include: aminocyclopyrachlor (Navius VM), aminopyralid (Milestone), chlorsulfuron (Telar), clopyralid (Lontrel 360), dicamba (Vanquish), diflufenzopyr (Overdrive), diuron (Diurex 80 WDG), flumioxazin (Payload), fluroxypyr (Retain B), glyphosate (Vantage XRT), indaziflam (Esplanade SC), MCPA (MCPA Amine 500), mecoprop-P (Mecoprop-P), metsulfuron methyl (Clearview), picloram (Grazon), pyroxasulfone (Torpedo), triclopyr (Garlon XRT), 2,4-D (2,4-D Amine 600), esterified vegetable oil (Hasten adjuvant) and paraffinic oil and alkoxylated alcohol non-ionic surfactants (Gateway adjuvant). Application methods include: backpack, power hose and nozzle, stem injection, wick/wipe-on applicator, and boom sprayer. A draft copy of the proposed IVMP and maps of the proposed treatment areas may be reviewed online on the Trans Mountain website from using this link https://www.transmountain.com/vegetation-management A person(s) wishing to contribute information about a proposed treatment site, relevant to the development of the pest management plan, may send copies of the information to the applicant at the address above (Trans Mountain Corporation, info@transmountain.com as well as the toll-free info line 1.866.514.6700) within 30 days of the publication of this notice.
