Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert The East Valley has grown over the years to accommodate employers who have moved here, and the labor force that supports those businesses. Unlike Scottsdale, known for resorts, spas and golf, or Tempe, ground zero for ASU’s large student population, the east Valley is known for families, schools, and children’s entertainment East Mesa is closest to the Superstition Mountains, Salt River, Marinas, and Payson high country The Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is 30 miles east of Sky Harbor International
The East Valley Vibe
Mesa is the largest and most established town in the east valley: East Mesa is the newest area Chandler has evolved and is home to some of the Valley’s largest Technology companies. The Town of Gilbert is probably considered the most upscale and is the newest city center with popular dining, shopping and entertainment options. Queen Creek is the farthest distance from Phoenix and has slowly recuperated from being one of the hardest hit during the 2008 housing decline. The East Valley school districts are the largest by student enrollment in the state, with many public and private options to choose from.
East Mesa
