PHILIPPINE S 1992: SUMMERMI SSION 4 CHRIST !

33

...finally after leaving Hong Kong & China I flew to Hawaii where I had a one-day layover...enjoyed a day at Waikiki...beautiful weather as 34

always..I actually was familiar with Hawaii from my semester there backwhen I was a sophomore in college at Chaminade University of Honolulu.

35

36

37

it came in handy to know the area because I had run out of cash, and didn't have a place to stay for the night...so I slept on the beach under some bushes...it was delightful...except that I had to sleep with my contact lenses on all night..a little red-eyed when I awoke

AFTER the summer mission ended in the Philippines, our group went back to Manila to fly back to the USA, but I decided to make the most of my plane ticket & since I was so close to Hong Kong & China, why not fly over there for a few days before returning to the states. So I went off on my own mission. I only stayed a few days in Hong Kong, and did a very brief trip to Macau & then across to China...a daytrip...not exactly a comprehensive journey, but a good sample of one part of China...met some nice people along the way.

"Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. 2And the soldiers platted acrown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, 3And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands. 4Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him. 5Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and thepurple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man! 6When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. 7The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God..."
