Hello! I’m Vanessa. I’m an interdisciplinary designer, that focuses on strategy and meaningcentred design. I bring a traditional yet modern take to design and I believe that design can shape and impact human experiences through critical learning, meaning, and aesthetics.

Prism
Background
Prism is a ready-to-drink canned spritz brand that originated in Vancouver, Canada, aiming to bring a unique and vibrant drinking experience to consumers. The brand draws inspiration from the effect of prisms, which refracts light into a spectrum of colours, symbolizing freshness, and innovation.
Prism seeks to differentiate their product in a crowded market by offering something distinctive and visually striking. To achieve this, I designed prism-shaped cans, setting the brand apart with an unconventional and eye-catching packaging design. This innovative approach not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the product but also adds a tactile element to the drinking experience.

Emergen-C
Background
Based on marketing research and observation, the redesign of Emergen-C packaging displays a revitalization of the brand’s image with a focus on enhancing marketability and desirability. The redesigned packaging for Emergen-C incorporates playful and fun elements, particularly in the design of the letter “C”, while utilizing high-contrast colours to evoke feelings of energy, healthiness, and vitality in consumers.

Background
The rebrand of Emergen-C introduces a vibrant and energetic new identity, capturing the essence of health and vitality. Through an animated motion video, viewers are quickly immersed in the brand’s refreshing world. Bold colors and playful reveal animations bring the brand to life, symbolizing the product’s liveliness. With its engaging visuals and upbeat tone, the video ad effectively introduces consumers to the revitalized Emergen-C brand, sparking interest and excitement.

Sans Perfection
Background
Sans Perfection is a project initiated in Fall 2023 with the aim of providing an entry point for deeper exploration and comprehension of the emotional realities inherent in graphic design. It seeks to engage with the complex and challenging impacts of perfectionism on the output of graphic designers. This project is founded upon both personal reflection and a collaborative/participatory research methodology, incorporating visual research techniques and interviews to gather data.

The Sans Perfection design process integrates visual research, interviews, and personal reflections to showcase the emotional impacts of perfectionism in graphic design. The process involved various research methodologies, such as, conducting visual research, interviews, and personal reflections. Data was analyzed to identify key themes, and content was developed and translated into different formats. These images show the collaborative and participatory posters that were placed in various universities for a diverse reflection.

Das App
Background
“Das App” and “Das Spiel” is an educational toolkit to help students learn the foundations of German. This is an interactive toolkit which can be used individually or in groups as a classroom activity. The objective of the online and physical tool is to improve understanding of the foundations of German using fun, educational and collaborative interactive methods. Das App and Das Spiel are part of a family of interactive learning. Both are used to create the most ideal, fun and collaborative experiences where users can seamlessly move from one to the other.

The creative process for “Das App,” involved thorough research into effective learning methods and target audience preferences. Design and development focused on creating an intuitive, engaging interface with interactive exercises. Content covering vocabulary, grammar, and phrases was curated, and seamless integration with “Das Spiel” ensured a cohesive learning experience. Extensive testing and user feedback informed the iterative improvements.
