My Style

I use natural light and all sessions are scheduled two hours before sunset to achieve those gorgeous sun filled images that take your breath away. I love customizing each session to the individual to give my clients unique sessions that you will enjoy looking at for years to come.

What To wear One of the most common questions I get once a session is booked is: “What should I wear?” Once the location has been chosen, we can then choose outfits to match! Your clothes should compliment the location. High heels on a field look just about as silly as boots on a beach. Now that we’ve established your style goes with your location, let me give you some tips and tricks.

Things I love

Soft neutrals. Mint Green. Tangerine. Maxie Dresses. High Low Skirts and Dresses. Belts. Scarves. Chunky Jewelry. Boots. Chunky Heels. High Wasted Shorts and Skirts.

Selecting a location

I work with four basic location styles. The Spokane area offers many locations for each style.

Country

Orchards

Parks

Classic Urban

Anything area with golden/ wispy tall grass...a little more wildernessy

I love working with all kinds of orchards. Whether you get the blossoms or the fruit will depend on the time of year.

Parks are perfect if you like the green nature but more groomed and clean

this is not your typical high school senior graffiti photos. Classic Urban is about beautiful buildings and sidewalks and other structures.

Things to keep in mind *Solid Black and Solid White doesn’t always photograph well. I can loose detail. So before you choose a solid black dress, lets have a chit chat and see if it will work with your location. *Please bring the proper undergarments for each outfit. Bra straps are not a great look and cannot be edited out. It’s always a good idea to bring “spanks” or something like it When wearing a a dress of skirt. It will help you feel much more confident during tricky poses. *Please be careful not to get too much sun. Tan lines and sunburns are NOT a good look. A little sun is good.Too much is not. *Try and schedule all hair cuts and color sessions at one to two weeks prior to your session. Its’s not very fun to have that just cut look in your photos and if your color is off you’ll be unhappy with your photos. *Your hands will show in your photos so make sure that your nails are filed and clean. Bold colors are not always the best choice with every outfit but clear nail polish and french manicures always look pretty.

Making your session Unique One of my favorite thing about each session is figuring out how to make it unique to just you. One of the ways to do this is to bring “props”. This really adds variety to your session. Think of family “erlumes” that you love; Jewelry or a handmade blanket. You’ll be able to look back on your photos thirty years from now and say, “That was your great grandmothers necklace.” Those photos will be treasures. Things that show your interests are wonderful as well if done in an un-tacky way. If you love flowers, buy a bouquet before your session. Old bicycles are super cute! Even floppy hats and scarves can add a lot to an otherwise boring session. Variety is the spice of life!

Hair and make-up Why Hire a Pro? Often, when I sit down at a consultation to go over different sessions and answer any questions a new client may have, I always get this same question. Do I really NEED a professional make-up artist? Let me go through and highlight some of the reasons I LOVE working with a professional.

It takes an artful eye to see the potential in each face.

You may know plenty of tricks to apply your makeup for everyday wear, and it looks BEAUTIFUL, but you’ll find that hiring a professional make-up artist is well worth the investment. It takes an artful eye to see the potential in each face. A professional make-up artist is trained to apply flawless, enduring makeup for the camera. Features with everyday makeup application can appear flat or washed out on camera and an expert makeup artist knows how to highlight and contour your face to make sure your features translate from real life to the photo. The foundation that you use on a daily bases is most likely not going to look quite right in camera; your skin can be up to two shades lighter in camera than in real life. My makeup artist custom creates a perfect foundation color to match your skin tone and selects the right colors to make the clients features pop. Professionals have excellent makeup product and knowledge. Sometimes our everyday at home makeup is too shimmery or glittery and on camera, it can look oily or dirty and even

matte makeup can cast unwanted shadows. I exclusively use ARTISTRY skin care and cosmetics. ARTISTRY is one of the top 5 prestige brands in the world! It not only looks fantastic on, but it’s actually good for your skin! My makeup artist is part of my creative team and we get to collaborate on everything involved with your shoot from the location we’ve chosen to the outfits you’ll be wearing and even what jewelry you’ll have on to create the perfect look that compliments the entire photo shoot concept! One of the best reasons to use a pro is to get PAMPERED! With all of the planning you have to do with outfits accessories, props, and locations, it’s so nice to know someone else is going to make you look AND feel like a ROCKSTAR! Behind every beautiful movie star, singer or model, there is a talented and experienced makeup artist working hard to ensure they look great, and a professional photographer capturing the moment. Your photo-shoot is your mini celebrity moment and you should look and feel as AMAZING as those stars.

I need 2 horizontal pics with girls not touching their faces.
