The company was founded in 1837 by Thierry Hermès. It started as a harness workshop in Paris. At the beginning of the 20th century, CharlesÉmile, brought the Hermès store to 24 Rue Du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, the store remained to this day and is the company's world headquarters.
