Architecture by Vanthat El San
I am interesting in living conditions of our built environment and how architecture of ordinary has a tendency to sacrifice convenience for the sake of economy. This sacrifice lead to a tension, made more prevalent by observing the dichotomy of high design and standard buildings, specifically how relationship should be complimentary, stimulating the generation of conveniences for inhabitant. While design magazines and awards highlight isolated cases of architecture perfection, the ordinary is what interests me. I constantly search and starve for design catering to the ordinary instead of examplifying the elite extraordinary.
