The Ultimate Beginners Guide To Clearomizers Like the Smok Tfv8 Tank

Clearomizers or tanks, like the Smok TFV8 tank, are the part of an e-cigarette which holds the e-liquids and uses the heat from the coils to turn them into vapor, which is inhaled by the user. Clearomizer is short for clear cartomizer. They come in various shapes and sizes but majority of them follows the same design principles. The anatomy of a tank or clearomizer can be stated as: 

The tank section, made of plastic or glass, it is the reservoir for storing the liquid (e-juice).

The chimney and the top section, the chimney is attached to the coil and provides an air passage through the tank to ensure airflow.

The drip tip, which is the part you put in your mouth and inhale. The drip tip is replaceable for a customized feeling.

Bottom section, where the coils attach themselves to the battery

Coils, the part which heats up to produce the vapors from the liquids.

How to Fill a Clearomizer The golden rule for filling any kind of clearomizer, like the smok tfv8 tank, is not to get any e -liquid in the center tube. All the modern day clearomizers have an air tube or chimney running down the middle on the inside of the main tank and you have to be careful so as to not get any liquid into this section particularly. Getting any liquid in this part would mean leakage of the product. The key is to be careful while filling. If there are markings on the tank, do not fill more than the top most marking or else there will be a risk of spilling. What Are Resistance and Ohms? The amount of resistance an atomizer produces is measured in ohms. Lower resistance features:

More vapor is produced

More heat is generated and increased temperatures of coils.

The throat hit is much stronger.

Increased e-liquid usage

The battery life is drastically reduced

Higher resistance: 

Less vapor is produced

Less heat is generated

Smoother throat hit

Reduced e-juice usage

Battery life is longer

Sub ohming When the resistance of the coil is below 1 ohm, is is called sub-ohming. Sub-ohming can drastically increase the amount of vapor being produced from the tank or clearomizer. Not only does it increase vapor production, it also increases the temperature or the coils to a very high level, which can be overcome by having less restrictive airflow.
