The Vaping Bogan

Thanks for taking some time to let our readers get to know a bit about the man behind The Vaping Bogan, and what your take is on the state of vaping in 2019. Let’s kick things off with a little bit about you.

So, Interview what part of Australia are you from, what was it like growing up there? Im from south australia, mostly grew up around the adelaide hills. and its awesome, lots of forrest to explore and only 30 minutes from the big smoke of the city.

Beer! You love it, we love it...what’s your go to brew? Haha at moment my everyday beer is coppers session ale or Victoria Bitter. but go to craft would probably be elvis juice or Kaiju Krush

How disappointing is Fosters, as a beer lover? Bahaha you cant even find it here, it so bad aussies dont even drink it.

As you are a man from down under, are you frightened of creepy crawlies? Nah as long as i can see em, they're fine.

What is your favourite native animal? hmmm probably the red kangaroo!

As you have traveled across the planet, where has been the best country to visit? I have been lucky enough to travel a lot, New Zealand is probably the raddest place ive been.

What are your top three films of all time? Snatch, Pulp Fiction and probably Step Brothers.

What is your favourite genre/band, and of course, your favourite song of all time. Punk. NOFX and probably the decline - by NOFX

Just looking at you, it is pretty easy to see you really like your tattoos. Of all of the work you have on you, which piece is your favourite, or most significant? Oh I dont think I could have a favourite they're like children. but probably the skull on my shoulder

I’m curious, where did the name The Vaping Bogan come from? It definitely stands out from the crowd, how did it come about? It’s pretty simple, a bogan is like an aussie redneck, I just had a funny idea to combine boganism with vape reviews and it kinda snowballed from there.

OK, now we’ve learned a bit about the man behind the cap. What about vaping? When and how did you get into it? I just wanted to quit smoking for years, failed many times and then I found vaping via youtube and surprise surprise it worked!

What was your first Vaping device? Joytech Ego Twist with a Kanger Protank Mini 3.

How did you get into vlogging? Did you sort of drift into it, or was it a conscious decision to become a vlogger? It just started as a joke and then people keep wanting more and well, here i am nearly 5 years later lucky enough to be doing it for a job.

What can you tell us about the state of the industry down under? There are no flavour bans as yet but australia still cant sell liquid with nicotine so we are stuck ordering from overseas and adding it to our local liquids. Then there is various states like south australia which have really screwed the industry by throwing everything vaping in with tobacco legislation. Its very worrying time for aussies. our hope is the federal government brings in some common sense laws that will supercede these archaic state regs.

The tpd/trpr regulations - How badly do you think they have affected the industry in Europe? Have they damaged the image of vaping, in your opinion? I think it has had some negative effects but overall your doing a lot better than Australia. the UK especially is really doing a pretty great job even with a few dumb regulations I think your going in the right direction.

What can you tell us about your work as a vape advocate? It seems like it could be a very interesting field of work to be involved in? I wouldn't say I work in the field of advocacy I just feel it my responsibility to advocate for the community that supports me.

How can the person “in the street’ get involved with promoting vaping as an alternative to tobacco? Educate the general population, the misinformation out there is one of the most damaging things we face as an industry. Also tell your politicians you vape and you vote.
