BIG WHEELS KEEP ON turning

Like a broken record, the anti-vaping crowd has a habit of repeating the same warnings about e-cigarettes time and time again.

Whether its stories about users hospitalised with popcorn lung or suggestions that vaping is a gateway drug, they seem to routinely cycle through a roster of supposed negative consequences.

So when Dr Sandro Demaio of Australian health promotion foundation VicHealth shared an article suggesting ‘sex and lies’ are used to sell vapes…it was only a matter of time before a harm reduction advocate replied.

Hitting back at Demaio’s tweet – which reiterated warnings that ‘unsubstantiated or blatantly false health claims’ were being used to push vapes – Dr Colin Mendelsohn posted the above graphic.

The veteran e-cigarette promoter and ‘Australia’s first pro-vaping doctor’ said this was a case of the ‘pot calling the kettle black’.

He said: “Vaping deniers repeat the same lies about vaping over and over again, with total disregard for evidence or harm to public health.”
