CampCares Healing Grant Outdoor PEER Healing Retreats
2024 Fundraising Goal - $100,000
2024 Fundraising Goal - $200,000
VETCares’ Trauma Thriver (TTG) Grant offers support to victims of MST and domestic violence. The grants can help provide necessary resources to ensure that victims of trauma are able to access the support they need to heal and recover.
CampCares is designed to provide outdoor healing retreats including hunting, f ishing, back- country hiking, conservation, equine therapy, and meditation programs that are immersed in nature’s solitude to heal the soul.
Two TTG categories:
CampCares organizes local guides to take veterans out for one to several days of therapeutic activities. Participants then meet back at basecamp for dinner and professionally led peer therapy.
Military Sexual Trauma (MST) is a serious issue that affects many service members and veterans; it is important that we do all we can to provide support and assistance to those who have experienced it. According to studies domestic violence within the military and veteran communities is high and that is why our grants help individuals access services such as counseling and legal assistance, to help them reclaim their lives to become victorious.
Announcement: We have completed two 4-day fly-fishing camps in Paradise Valley, Montana in 2022 and 2023. We witnessed tremendous healing during these PEER sessions with lead up work and follow up sessions.
