I like to research the site plan before planning, I think that the history of a place is a key for a successful future. Next step is to find the best ways for walking across, between, and into the building, whatever function of place, because all places that are made for people should be safe and comfortable.

Location & Proposal The Student’s Club is located in the central part of the city, surrounded by historical buildings, built between early 1900 and 1950. It’s form and style influenced the building of Novosibirsk State University of Architecture Design and Arts. Front of the club oriented to the Krasny Prospect - main street of the city. Other sides hiden by near buildings, so we should design main facade.

Functional zones
Club separated in three vertical zones: The form and materials mirror the local traditional construction use of brick. The club is located in a central historical area and should respect and conform with the surrounding environment.

Reconstruction of Transport Hub Analysis | Research | Proposal

The railway tracks of transport hub cross through the central districts and divide the historic city center and closest riverside. The main problem is the separated city center. This in fact impacts all aspects of life for both sides of the city. The central district is not comfortable while being nearest to the river with possible attraction of it while the riverside district is apart from the main pulse of city life. Also the riverside district has no public recreation and entertainment area. Union of two districts by mix-used building would become fullfill this gap.

Analysis of Site Plan
Solution for the problem should become the new transport hub.
The existing station doesn’t match the growing needs of Novosibirsk. The city is widely spreading with old and new districts. Traffic is one of the top problems; citizens are wasting time in traffic because they do not have alternative public transportation instead of automobiles. This could be resolved by a hybrid of public transport systems which include suburban train, light train, tram, metro and bus. This project has been under development of the city planning Council since 2017. The railway part (metro + light tram) in short we will call NCR - Novosibirsk City Rail. For this new transport system we need to build transport hub with NCR station, it will resolve two problems at once - separation of riverside district from city center and transportation across city.
Designed by SketchUp, postproduction in Photoshop and drafted in Adobe InDesign. Model has a simplified structure and relief from Google Map data. Surrounding buildings is boxes with correct height and numbers of floors, stations buildings is detailed due to concept needs.

The project ÂŤTransport Hub in NovosibirskÂť was created as a part of masterplan designed by Sofya Kazanceva, student of faculty ÂŤUrban PlaningÂť NSUADA. This masterplan is a part of her graduate project. I appreciate collaborating with Sofya and am thankful for her permission to use this masterplan as a base for my project.

Novosibirsk City Rail [NCR] - type of hybrid urban-suburban serving consist multiple transport vehicles such as light train, train railway, metro, trams and bus lines intersect in hubs
The main idea of construction is to connect two parts of the city - Central District and Riverside District. The first idea was using the terrain relief and making a roof of a new hub as an extension of square place, allowing for people to the Riverside District easily. But there was a restriction against construction which involved reconstruction of Main Station. So we choose to connect places by underground lines.

Underground Floor
The Underground floor is the main part of the transport hub, there are many ways to cross between the two districts. The area consists of two parts - NTR station zone and recreation zone which includes a food court, commercial spots for grocery, shops and services. There is also underground parking for short term usage.

Section
The Transport Hub unites two parts of the city by utilizing a comfortable underground transition which include the ways between Sq. Garina and Riverside District with a park and living neighborhood. New buildings can not evolve near the main train station, because it has special cultural status and can not be reconstructed, so we solve this issue by using invisible connections and also we create a new square for leisure and shopping.
