1. Cardamom • Cardamom has a significant value in various Indian dishes. • Two variants are there of whole cardamoms: • Green cardamom • Black Cardamom

• Green cardamom is usually used in sweet dishes and desserts whereas black cardamom is used in spicy dishes as the latter one holds a spicier flavour that the former one.


2. Cumin seeds • Cumin seeds are a unique whole spice which is used in many Indian dishes. • Similar in look with caraway, cumin seeds have unique smell and taste. Usually they are put in at the time of tempering. • But take care while you do it as these seeds quickly get burnt and become bitter in taste.


3. Black pepper • If we talk about the ancient times, black pepper was as precious as the gold which is why it was also called as the ‘Black Gold’. • Add whole black pepper to your dishes if you want to uplift its spice factor. • You may also use black pepper powder by storing its blended form.


4. Cloves • With a very unique taste and shape, cloves have sweetish spicy taste. • Due to their unique aroma, they cannot be used in all the recipes.
