Once the first line of defence against German bombardment, the Redsand sea forts lay derelict and abandoned.
Project Greensands is a design proposal which was created in order to give new life to the site as well as utilise it's position for the harvest and processing of the copious amounts of micro Algae, present in the thames estuary.
The project was awarded the RIBA SELSA Award in early 2018.
