Welcome
Featured Services
Rose Savage Chair,
Vaughan Public Library Board
Welcome to a very special edition of What’s On! At Vaughan Public Libraries, we strive to deliver the best possible experience for our customers and to provide you with access to services, collections and programs within your community. This extends to our spaces, and I am pleased to announce that the renovation of Maple Library is almost complete, and doors will reopen in mid-March. Visitors will discover a welcoming and vibrant space, modernized with beautiful architectural details, and a reading garden that will provide a calming space to relax and read. Soon after Maple reopens, the brand new VMC Library will begin serving Vaughan’s growing downtown. This state-of-the-art library will offer culinary literacy programming at a community kitchen and contains study spaces, a playful children’s area, and the innovative self-serve VMC Express, located just steps away from transit for people on the go. In addition to these openings, I am proud to share that the Vaughan Public Library Board has received the Joyce Cunningham Award for Library Board of the Year. This award, which has been given to all Ontario Library Boards, recognizes their dedication to adapt and respond to customer needs—something that has been especially critical during the pandemic—and is yet another example of how everyone at VPL is committed to excellence and service.
AWARD-WINNING BUNDLES It’s official – our Surprise Me! Bundles are award-winning! Discover why the Urban Libraries Council chose this VPL offering as a top innovation for 2021, and pick up your bundle at your local branch today! We offer selections for all age ranges.
