Welcome Greetings from

Rose Savage

Chair, Vaughan Public Library Board

Welcome to What’sOn at the Library Vaughan Public Libraries' (VPL) ten welcoming and vibrant destinations offer quality spaces for educating, exciting and empowering our community. Recently the Civic Centre Resource Library (CCRL) won the distinguished Ontario Library Association’s (OLA) New Library Building Award. The OLA jury described CCRL as “…a cultural destination that inspires creativity, provides a welcoming place to gather and interact, and that has attracted new users enriching community life in the rapidly growing City of Vaughan.” Witnessing the potential of our libraries unfold has been inspiring as we become even more dynamic and innovative to meet the needs of residents. Over the next few months we will be refreshing and enhancing our current brand to better tell our story to the communities we serve. Watch for the reveal in early 2020!

Exciting times continue as construction on the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and the Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital Libraries progress and are expected to open next year! Follow our Building Blog at www.vaughanpl.info/building to stay up to date on our new libraries and renovations being done to existing branches. We are committed to creating innovative ways to deliver valuable programs and services such as vending machines in our resource libraries; GoPros, GPS, iPads, MiFi, and Playaway Launchpads for borrowing; programming such as Vaughan Fan Con, a Night of Mystery with Maureen Jennings, author of the Detective Murdoch Mysteries, the Newcomers’ Bus Tour; exhibitions like My Story, My Tattoo, Sir Arthur Currie and so much more! Assist us to strengthen our journey to enrich, inspire and transform your library experiences by providing your feedback through our monthly quick survey on VPL’s website on a specific library topic. At VPL we continuously strive to provide you with superior resources and facilities.
