EXTENSION OF TARGETED RATE ENHANCEMENT FOR RESIDENTIAL PROVIDERS Vaya is committed to supporting providers as we work together to ensure our members continue to receive MH/SUD/IDD services during the COVID-19 pandemic. To help providers retain residential staff and support increased operational costs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Vaya increased rates by 10% for eligible Medicaid residential services effective March 10, 2020. The rate increase is applied to each facility’s standard rate. Vaya has extended this rate increase through May 31, 2020. We will re-evaluate the rate each month until the COVID-19 State of Emergency is lifted. Read more: Targeted Rate Enhancement during COVID-19 (April 9, 2020)

QUESTION, PERSUADE, REFER (QPR) – SUICIDE PREVENTION WEB-BASED TRAINING Suicide is a leading cause of death in the United States. During the global pandemic, when fear, anxiety and depression are heightened for many people, thoughts of suicide may be more common. It’s important to know about available support strategies. Vaya’s Provider and Community Education Team will offer four additional “Question, Persuade, Refer” (QPR) suicide prevention trainings in May for providers and other community members. Each training is limited to 25 participants. Registration remains open for two classes that are not yet full. NC RAPID RECOVERY LOAN PROGRAM EXPANSION The NC COVID-19 Rapid Recovery Loan Program was launched by the NC Rural Center on March 24, 2020, with an initial allocation of $15 million from the Golden LEAF Foundation. The program provides emergency bridge loans to N.C. small business owners affected by the economic impacts of COVID-19. Legislation signed by Gov. Roy Cooper on Monday includes an additional $125 million to expand the NC Rapid Recovery Loan program. Loan applications are reviewed on a firstcome, first-served basis.
